Workplace unsafe

Involving or causing danger or risk liable to hurt or harm. In the workplace, unsafe is attributed to an unsafe act, behavior, or condition. 

A comprehensive school-security review is an essential step when addressing the security needs of your school. The review should involve a tour of the school grounds (inside and outside), which would ideally be led by the person responsible for school security, accompanied by members of the assessment team. During the tour, key hazards should be noted, photographs should be taken, and a fundamental review of all security issues and measures should be undertaken. In health and safety terms, a hazard is any situation with the potential to cause harm or damage. A hazard can describe unsafe conditions (e.g., a physical condition that can make the workplace unsafe), such as a slippery floor, or unsafe acts, such as horseplay. Unsafe omissions such as the failure to follow safe systems or wear protective equipment can also be termed hazards. During this step, it is important to imagine worst-case scenarios.

Hepatitis B transmission can only be prevented by a thorough understanding of the routes of transmission. The virus is transmitted by contact with blood or body fluids of an infected person in the same way as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). However, HBV is 50-100 times more infectious than HIV. In brief, the main ways of getting infected with HBV are perinatal (from mother to baby at the birth), child-to-child transmission, unsafe injections (Hutin et al. 1999), transfusions and sexual contact. The virus is not spread by contaminated food or water, and cannot be spread casually in the workplace.

Almost three out of five reported that they had been seriously injured on-the-job of these, a third reported multiple injuries. (The emphasis on serious was in the questionnaire.) When asked what priority his or her employer placed on safety, twice as many said low as high (The National Safe Workplace Institute, 1990a). 

Superficially, gas accumulation is an unsafe condition and formed by a period of time. But a large number of accidents showed that in the production process of underground coalmine, except the gas explosions which are explode in the gob, gas accumulation in other workplace is usually caused by people s unsafe act.

Unpredictability. Violations are random events, it is impossible to predict. Mine is a special work environment, different working conditions and working environment, different types, different workplaces may occur unsafe behavior, leading to accidents.

At the beginning, the focus in industrial accident prevention was on unsafe conditions, such as open blades and unprotected belts. While this emphasis on preventing unsafe conditions was very successful in reducing workplace injuries, the decrease naturally started to slow down as the most obvious hazards were eliminated. It is illogical to conclude in an incident investigation that the principal causal factor is the unsafe act of the worker if the design of the workplace or the work methods is error-provocative. In such cases, the error-provocative aspects of the work should be considered primary. (A few organizations are giving courses on Preventing Human Error which focus on how to identify and prevent what they are calling error-likely work situations. This is a recent development.)...

As was stated previously, it is common for advocates of the worker-focused behavioral-safety model to state that 80-95% of accidents are principally caused by unsafe acts of workers, and, therefore, the proper action is to develop worker-focused solutions. That creates the impression in the minds of managements and many safety practitioners that the workers are the problem, that all risk situations can be resolved by worker observation techniques and positive reinforcement, and that the antecedents that derive from the design of the work methods and the workplace can be ignored.

Some critical safety elements help control the physical conditions and the health and safety of the environment that would contribute to the reduction of losses as a result of an unsafe workplace. The act of cleaning up a workplace helps to clean up the thought processes of those in the workplace. The physical conditions of the workplace have a major effect on the attitudes and behaviors of anployees. Positive safety culture cannot be nurtured in a dirty, disorderly work area. 

The workplaces had transformed from dark, dingy, untidy, and unsafe areas to clean, neat, and orderly workplaces that inspired employees to keep them in that state. When 1 would see employees in the local grocery store over the weekend, they all told me how successfully the system was working in their areas. They were excited about safety.
