He was awarded the honorary doctorate from his Alma Mater in 1935, and posthumously by the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.

Rychlewski s wife, Urszula, to whom he was married for about 33 years, is a professor of chemistry and crystallography at A. Mickiewicz University. Their only son, Jeremi, now 3 3-year old, is a traffic engineer with a PhD degree at the Poznan University of Technology.
