Trading activity

Although China has officially banned e-waste importation, such ban in some cases has resulted in underground illegal e-waste trading activities. In fact, e-waste problems are not limited to China alone other developing countries such as India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand, and Nigeria also have to deal with similar issues [2, 5]. 

It was noted that PCBs might also be present in minute quantities in some consumer products such as small old electrical appliances/parts, electronics, impact papers, adhesives, sealants, plastic materials and paints. The 2003 Hong Kong Census and Statistic figures showed local trading activities of these consumer products. However, in the absence of information on the product content of PCBs, no estimate of total PCBs in semi-closed and open application could be made. The relative contribution from this category to total PCB use was likely to be insignificant.

In the first case, governments can devolve trading activity to the level of companies in order to enhance carbon market efficiency, and trade only on behalf of sectors not covered by domestic emissions trading schemes ([Ql]Hahn and Stavins, 1999). In fact, this is the approach currently adopted by the European Union, where EU ETS allowances (EUAs) traded across national country borders correspond to Kyoto units (AAUs). Another design option relates to whether companies may or may not be allowed to trade with governments. According to economic theory this would be the most efficient option. ...

Assets are classified as current assets and fixed assets. The essential difference between the two is that fixed assets contribute to the company s productive capacity while current assets are items which are bought and sold in the course of its day-to-day trading activities. The fixed assets are further subdivided into investments (e.g. shares in other companies), tangible assets (assets which have some physical existence) and intangible assets (assets such as copyrights in literary works, which have no physical existence).

The rest of the report gives in exhaustive detail each e-bond provider s current and proposed offering, system type, availability, funding information, trading activity, revenue strategy, and customers. From this excerpt, however, note the number of e-bond companies in the industry just two years ago—most of whom you will not likely see in the future.
