A general directory of Finnish suppliers 19) has been issued in several languages, including English. About 40 chemicals are given in the classified list of products. The quarterly Finnish Trade Review 20) contains articles on industry, trade, and other matters affecting the Finnish economy, with a few statistics and news items. This is published in Enghsh. [Pg.60]

Many journals are published by commercial publishers which deal with the applied side of industrial technology, such as the Perfumery and Essential Oil Record, Food Technology, Leather Trades Review, Paint Technology, Rubber and Plastics Age, Textile Industries, and the Paper Trade Journal. Important publishers in this field are Tothill Press, Leonard Hill, and... [Pg.53]

A brief review of the figures of merit (1) for thermal imaging (4) and gas detection is given to show the various trades-off required to image the thermal environment and detect atmospheric contamination. [Pg.291]

Several studies on FWAs have concluded that diarninostilbenedisulfonic acid/cyanuric chloride (DAS/CC) and distyrylbiphenyl (DSBP) type whiteners are of a low order of toxicity. Thek safety has been extensively reviewed by governmental agencies there is no evidence of human health ha2ards. FWA producers and users consider these products to be both safe and beneficial to the ultimate consumer. This view is supported by appropriate trade associations. A comprehensive review of available safety and environmental data has been pubflshed (82). In addition, principal suppHers are conducting life cycle analyses on the primary whiteners in use (ca 1993). [Pg.120]

An annual review of germanium is pubUshed by the U.S. Bureau of Mines (40) and a broader survey is pubUshed every five years (41). The Engineering and Mining Journal also pubhshed an annual germanium review through 1986 (42). The economics of germanium, with special emphasis on world trade, have been reviewed (43). [Pg.280]

Definite and known procedures for foUow-up must be provided for, with the design group assessing the value of each idea and suggestion presented by the review committee. The actions taken are known to the committee and subject to further review. With such organization, the trade-offs can be acted upon at the appropriate level. [Pg.6]

Trade secret rights are based on the complete absence of disclosure of the invention to anyone other than the owner. Oftentimes ideas, developments, and advances that are the subject of trade secret protection are those which may not be patentable, for any of a number of reasons. These reasons can include the nature and subject matter of the advance or development, as weU as the commercial value of the advance or development. In any instance, an individual, business, or corporation is weU-advised to consider all possible means of protection when reviewing an advance, development, or invention. [Pg.25]

Thickness of the laminar layer is deterrnined both by the need to reproduce fine detail in the object and by the penetration depth of the actinic laser light into the monomer bath (21,76). There is thus a trade-off between precision of detail in the model and time required for stereohthography, ie, the number of layers that have to be written, and an optimum Light-absorbing initiator concentration in the monomer bath corresponding to the chosen layer thickness. Titanocene-based initiators, eg, bis-perfluorophenyltitanocene has been recommended for this apphcation (77). Mechanistic aspects of the photochemistry of titanocenes and mechanisms of photoinitiation have been reviewed (76). [Pg.393]

The polymerization of tetrahydrofuran was first studied ia the late 1930s (3,4). In 1960, this work was summarized (4), and the Hterature on tetrahydrofuran polymers and polymerization has been growing ever siace. Polytetrahydrofuran with hydroxy end groups has become a large-scale commercial product, used mainly as the flexible polyether segment ia elastomeric polyurethanes and polyesters. It is commercially available under the trade names Terathane (Du Pont), Polymeg (QO Chemicals), and PolyTHF (BASF). Comprehensive review articles and monographs have been pubUshed (2,5-8). [Pg.359]

A monograph (1) covers the pioneering period of sulfa dmg development and describes over 5000 sulfanilamide derivatives, their preparation, properties, trade names, and biological testing. This review is remarkably complete through 1944. Several thousand additional derivatives have been made since, but no comparable coverage is available. A definitive account of medical appHcations up to 1960 has been pubHshed (2), and a review of experimental antibacterial aspects has been made (3). Chapters on general aspects of sulfonamides and sulfones have appeared (4,5). A review of the clinical efficacy of trimethoprim—sulfamethoxazole has been pubHshed (6). [Pg.463]

Technical and trade organi2ations are concerned with safety and the environment. The Chlorine Institute in North America and Euro Chlor in Western Europe are examples of organi2ations dedicated to the safe production, transport, and use of chlorine. Ha2ard and operabiHty studies (HAZOP) reviews for new designs, plants, and expansions (135) have become required by poHcy in many operating companies. Papers on safety and environmental subjects are given at most technical meetings (136—138). [Pg.82]
