Titanium pyrophosphate

Titanium pyrophosphate [13470-09-2] TiP20y, a possible uv reflecting pigment, is a white powder that crystallizes ia the cubic system and has a theoretical density of 3106 kg/m. It is iasoluble ia water and can be prepared by heating a stoichiometric mixture of hydrous titania and phosphoric acid at 900°C.

Inorganic screeners are additives such as carbon black, titanium dioxide (TiO ), zinc oxide, cerium octoate, and cerium-titanium pyrophosphate. They function by converting UV light to heat. 

It was found that the combination of titanium phosphate, which has a small excess of phosphorus with respect to stoichiometric titanium pyrophosphate, TiP20y, with (V0)2p207 brings about an enhanced catalytic performance in the reaction of acetic acid and related compounds with HCHO [4-7]. However, the combination of titanium phosphate does not improve the performance in the reaction of propionic acid and related compound with HCHO [4,8]. 

A number of metal ions of variable valence, for example FeK, Ti111 and V11, can reduce silver. Among the more significant coordination compounds are those of iron and titanium. Iron(II) ion, in the presence of fluoride or pyrophosphate to sequester the Fem formed, is a developer. The bis(oxalato)ferrate(II) ion, [Fe(C204)2p, is also a developer in the presence of excess oxalate.
