The traditional or typical antipsychotics are dopamine inhibitors that block other neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, histamine, and norepinephrine. Extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS) are a common side effect with these medications, and the social worker must be able to recognize them. As an example, one company, The Felters Group, manufactured a line of felt-like materials named Fiberloc . The product is available in various forms, densities, finishes, and can be made from synthetic and/or natural materials. Thicknesses can range from 1/16 inch to IVi inch.
