Test platforms

Initially, the main objective is an exhaustive verification of all functional blocks, safety matrices and their inteicoimection. 

The program consists of safe , certified , and validated software objects, and the test strategy adopted is based on the principle of white box testing [GAR 98], This method produces test scenarios directly from the program stiucture, significantly reducing the space of possible tests. The test criterion [ZHU 97] for a function block consists of ensuring that every possible path from input to output has been activated (transition from state 0 to state 1).

Conversely, if we cannot rely on the Siemens development methodology for safety controllers, the principle of black box testing should be applied. For each non-elementary functional block, this would result in a test of all possible combinations of input, in order to ensure the achievement of desired output states in all cases In the simple case of the functional block mentioned above, the number of tests required would have been 2 =16. 

Secondly, the software is tested in its entirety, in order to ensure that all program blocks ate properly connected and there is no logical error in their interactions. The dynamic behavior of the IIS is also emulated.

In 1999, the Ministry of Research, in association with the Ministry of Industry, created the Fuel Cell Technological Research Network (PACo network) to contribute to French energy policy for the development of new energy sources. The purposes of the network were to foster creativity and innovation needed for the commercial development of fuel cells and to encourage public-private partnerships and facilitate interdisciplinary cooperation. In July 2000, the government launched CNRT (Centre National de Recherche Tech nolog ique) in Belfort-Montbeliard, involving the construction of a fuel cell test platform dedicated to transport applications. The fiiel cell test capacities have demonstrated power up to 200 kW. 

Hardware considerations for automated performance testing systems generally include the computer, software, monitor, and input devices. These features can be provided on multiple testing platforms, including personal computers, handheld personal digital assistants, Internet-based systems, or on platforms that are specially designed to simulate occupational contexts. 

The extensional melt behavior was assessed with the new SER Universal Testing Platform from X-pansion Instruments, described by Sentmanat (53,54) and shown in Fig. 12. 25. The obtained tensile stress of the two resins at 170°C and extensional rate of 20 s-1 are shown on Fig. 12.26. It is evident that Resin E has a higher modulus and higher tensile stress values, at a given strain below yield, than Resin C. From this, and the experimental data discussed previously, we see that the values of the critical shear rate and shear stress for the onset of sharkskin fracture are inversely proportional to the magnitude of the tensile stress of the resins. Analytical Testing Platforms for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring... 

As shown in Table 5-1, over a dozen assays have been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for patient testing within the United States on central laboratory and point-of-care (POC) or near-bedside testing platforms. In addition to these quantitative assays, several assays have been FDA-cleared for the qualitative determination of cTnl. 

A different approach has been investigated within the EU FP7 ESNATS project (www.esnats.eu FP7 2009-2013) that is the development of alternative tests based only on one single cell model, the embryonic stem cells (ES cells), taking advantage of their ability to mimic early embryo development and to differentiate in all three germ layers under specific differentiation protocols. The aim of the ESNATS project is to develop a novel all-in-one toxicity test platform, preferably based on human ES cells, to overcome interspecies variations. Several differentiation protocols have been optimized and adapted to the purpose of defining robust standard operation... 

The use of Moodle within teacher training course proved to be extremely fruitful and yielded excellent results. For many participants it was the first opportunity to use this type of tool which resulted in creating their independent school platforms. Within the course very interesting materials were prepared which are currently used by teachers in then school work. E-education and E-test platforms provided by the Department of Chemical Education is at the participants disposal. Almost 200 teachers have finished e-learaing course Moodle step by step in Poland. Here are a few comments cited on the discussion forum of the course (Fig. 6) ...

While we have demonstrated the successful application of our integrated organic photodiode-based test platform to antioxidant capacity determination, we regard this as a first step towards a universal platform for chemiluminescence-based testing at the point-of-care. To this end we have investigated the use of passive fluid delivery schemes (to circumvent the use of valves and external pumps) and the implementation of low-cost electronic read-out circuits (for both size and cost reduction).
