An injection room of 6 x 6 feet should be equipped with a comfortable chair with armrest for the patient to sit on and a sink. All appropriate supplies should be stored in the room. A lead-shielded sharps container for syringe disposal and lead-shielded storage bin for other waste disposal are kept in the room. 

For dealing with smaller volumes of solution, micropipettes, often referred to as syringe pipettes, are employed. These can be of a push-button type, in which the syringe is operated by pressing a button on the top of the pipette the plunger travels between two fixed stops and so a remarkably constant volume of liquid is delivered. Such pipettes are fitted with disposable plastic tips (usually of polythene or polypropylene) which are not wetted by aqueous solutions, thus helping to ensure constancy of the volume of liquid delivered. The liquid is contained entirely within the plastic tip and so, by replacing the tip, the same pipette can be employed for different solutions. Such pipettes are available to deliver volumes of 1 to 1000 pL, and the delivery is reproducible to within about 1 per cent.

As liquids in disposable cartridges or disposable syringes diat contain a specific amount of a drug in a specific volume, for example, meperidine 50 mg/ mL. After administration, die cartridge or syringe is discarded.

Add wood furnish (384 g, moisture content 6.02%) to the bowl of a rotary blade paddle mixer (such as a Kitchen-Aid KSM90) and agitate at the lowest speed setting. Add Mondur 541 (7.39 g, 1.9% w/w, a polymeric diphenylmethane diisocyanate of 31.5% NCO, Bayer) dropwise over a 5-min period using a disposable syringe. The assembly is heated for 4 min. before demolding the cured wood panel. 

Details are given of ways of obtaining energy from the pyrolysis of disposable syringes. Salmona et al. [66] used El and CIMS to identify benzothiazole derivatives leached into injections by rubber plunger seals from disposable syringes. One of the compounds was used as a rubber vulcanisation accelerator, and four others were formed during syringe sterilisation with ethylene oxide.
