Support tasks

During a widespread disaster, medical professionals are frequently called upon to perform a range of support tasks (e.g., shelter support operations, triage determinations) in addition to their regular duties. These new roles and the demands of ensuring effective care during a disaster require a more holistic consideration ofthe individual s circumstances and needs. 

The SAR studies reported here were done using the ADAPT computer software system (35,36). ADAPT has been implemented on the Department of Chemistry MODCOMP 11/25 16-bit digital computer in FORTRAN. The fundamental steps involved in performing an SAR study using this system are shown in Figure 1. In light of these trials, the Advanced Life Support Task Force of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation has recommended that unconscious adult patients with spontaneous circulation after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest be cooled to 32 to 34°C for 12 to 24 hours when the initial rhythm was VF. Support tasks and overhead should be included in the deteiil workplem to account for their impact on project cost and duration. Support refers to tdl those tasks that facilitate production of the deliverables through better communication, performance, or management. It could be project-related training, meetings, administration, project and team memagement, report production, and quedity assiuance reviews.

Ngwompo and his co-authors [24] state that a LTI SISO system is structurally invertible if there is at least one causal path in the causal direct bond graph between the input variable and the output variable ([24, Proposition 1, p. 162]). Furthermore, they show how the state equations of the inverse system can be directly determined from a causal direct bond graph model or from a bicausal bond graph. Finally, among robots for ADL support we also include vocational robotic workstations, such as the Desktop Vocational Assistant Robot (DeVAR), which is a voice-controlled robotic arm mounted on an overhead track system to keep the desk surface available for job-relafed objects and equipment. This system was designed to allow people with high-cervical spinal cord injuries to function more independently in a work environment [122]. Some other examples of robotic workstations can be found but they have been used with success only in a limited number of cases due to their bulkiness, high cost, and reduced number of supported tasks.
