SUGGESTED AND CITED REFERENCES

Several solid materials, such as organics dissolved In plastics (,22,23), phosphors sintered with polytetrafluoroethylene (30), phosphors (31), and lumogen-T (23), have been suggested as calibration standards. But most of the publications suggesting these materials (except Ref. 31) have not Included digital data for the corrected spectra. Additional Information, precautions, and pitfalls to be aware of In the use of various standards have been summarized In Reference 11 and the references cited therein.

Although the subcommittee agrees with ORNL that ChE inhibition is a valid end point on which to base the RfD for GA, the subcommittee s confidence in the data is undermined by the increased baseline RBC-AChE concentrations, which were attributed to laboratory errors, in the critical study. Eurthermore, confidence in the calculation of an equivalent oral NOAEL from an i.p. NOAEL is diminished because data from a secondary reference (i.e., RTECS 1995) were used to determine the ratio of the oral LD50 to the i.p. LD50. The subcommittee suggests that the data be verified from the primary source and cited appropriately. 

This final chapter suggests some additional ideas for more exercises that instructors can flesh out and develop into different directions. The cited references are meant to be mere starting points to the literature. 

When a manuscript is revised several times prior to submission, there can be a mix-up between the information cited and the actual reference. Therefore, I suggest that author use an author—date format in the paper until the final version of the manuscript has been prepared. Once this process is completed, the cited references can then be changed to a numerical system if this is what the publication uses.

The Stokes-Einstein equation for liquid-phase ordinary molecular diffusion coefficients in binary mixtures suggests that the product of Hab and the solvent viscosity /u-b should scale linearly with temperature T. Cite references (i.e., equations) from the literature and evaluate the product of Hab and /xb in terms of its scaling-law dependence on temperature for low-density gases. In other words ... 

As a rule, contributions are specially commissioned. The editors and publishers will, however, always be pleased to receive suggestions and supplementary information. Papers for Molecular Sieves are accepted in English. In references Molecular Sieves is abbreviated Mol Sieves and is cited as a journal. Reference texts on traditional Chinese medicine suggest that magnolia flower bud be used with caution in pregnancy (Bensky et al. 2004) and cite a study in which uterine stimulant activity was observed in rabbits and dogs after ingestion of magnolia flower (Chen and Chen 2004). 

Use of cited references is an important part of a technical report. Cited literature is a basic foundation for the reader to realize that the report makes sense within the state-of-the-art of the related discipline. For this reason, normally all the literature is cited in a technical report and, as such, the proper denominations should be References or Literature Cited. Bibliography is usually not an appropriate title for this section. Some textbooks and encyclopedias often refer to suggested readings or bibliography, that have not been cited in the text, for the reader to get further information on some topics discussed. In this section, each reference cited in the body of the report should be listed in detail, so that an interested reader can find the article, book, or report. There are several references styles used in scientific literature, such as the American Chemical Society style or the Harvard style. As long as the references listed are consistent, any scientific style can be used.
