Several state governments have also passed laws regulating and controlling lasers. Provisions of the laws vary greatly from state to state. 

If the requirements of Section 1038 of the Act are fuUy implemented, it is estimated that 70 million tires would be required on an annual basis. During the World War II the United States Government introduced the following system of nomenclature which continued in use, at least partially, until the 1950s and is used in many publications of the period. 

The Safe Drinking Water Act protects the quality of drinking water in the IJ.S. This law focu.ses on all waters actually or potentially designated for drinking use, whether above or below ground. The Act authorized EPA to establish safe standards of purity and required all owners or operators of public water systems to comply with primary (health-related) standards. State governments, that assume this power from EPA, also encourage attainment of secondary standards (nuisance-related).

Secondly, stmctural features in dmg regulation in countries operating a federal system of government affect the ability of the DRA to monitor dmg distribution throughout the entire country. In Australia, authority over distribution channels is fully delegated to the individual states. As a result, the TGA does not have the authority to assess and control the dmg distribution situation for the whole country. In contrast, the Pharmaceutical Services Division in Malaysia appoints a deputy director of health in each of its 13 states with power to issue licences, carry out inspections and submit reports. Under this arrangement, command and control may be exercised and an official channel established for information flow between the federal and state governments.
