Deliberate mild hypothermia has been shown to be an extremely effective means of neuroprotection during periods of ischemia in experimental models. Intraoperative mild hypothermia has become a standard of practice for many neurosurgeons performing complex intracranial procedures. Recent findings of neurologic benefit in prospective, randomized, controlled clinical studies of cardiac arrest patients are encouraging, but more research is required to confirm and extend these positive results to other patients with stroke and traumatic insults. Size of the cores The typical core sizes used for TMA constructs are 0.6 mm, 1 mm, 1.5 mm and 2 mm. Many workers consider the small 0.6 mm cores as the standard of practice. Use of smaller core diameters, however, allows for a greater number of cores to be extracted from the lesion and a greater number of cores that can fit into the TMA block. In addition, they tend to inflict little damage on the donor and recipient blocks and the cores are easier to remove and replace from these blocks. 

There are different standards of practice for collections of each type of animal. Insects are mostly preserved dry, pinned in specialized trays or boxes. Certain types of insects, like spiders or sometimes the larger beetles, may be fluid preserved in a standard 70% ethanol and water solution. Older collections sometimes include wet-preserved specimens in glycerin, oil, or formalin.

Despite the similarities that sustainability audits have to compliance and EHS management systems verification processes, there are some important yet subtle distinctions to note. Those distinctions include the scope or boundaries of the assurance/verification activities, standards of practice, assurance criteria and evidence, and content of the assurance report. 

In conclusion, because metabolism of these drugs may vary by ethnic group (in addition to varyingbecause of pharmacodynamic differences), understanding similarities and differences in cultures can play an important role in ensuring that patients receive optimum therapy and appropriate care.
