Sequential numbering

The Cl name for a dye is derived from the appHcation class to which the dye belongs, the color or hue of the dye, and a sequential number, eg. Cl Acid Yellow 3, Cl Acid Red 266, Cl Basic Blue 41, and Cl Vat Black 7. A five digit Cl number is assigned to a dye when its chemical stmcture has been made known by the manufacturer. The following example illustrates these points, where CA indicates Chemicalj bstracts and Cl Colourindex.

The ion channel receptors are multi-subunit proteins which may be either homomeric (made up of multiple copies of a single type of subunit) or heteromeric (composed of more than one subunit type). These subunits come together after synthesis in the endoplasmic reticulum to form the mature receptor. Notice that stoichiometry is denoted by a subscript number. A receptor composed of two a and three /I subunits is therefore denoted as having a stoichiometry of This can cause confusion when related subunits are given sequential numbers /II, j]2, 3, etc. The convention is therefore that subunits are numbered normally while stoichiometry is indicated by subscripts so that a pentamer of a4 and j33 subunits might have a stoichiometry of a42/133.

In principle, the calculation of bonding in two or three dimensions follows the same scheme as outlined for the chain extended in one dimension. Instead of one lattice constant a, two or three lattice constants a, b and c have to be considered, and instead of one sequential number k, two or three numbers kx, ky and k- are needed. The triplet of numbers k = (kx, ky, kz) is called wave vector. This term expresses the relation with the momentum of the electron. The momentum has vectorial character, its direction coincides with the direction of k the magnitudes of both are related by the de Broglie relation [equation (10.5)]. In the directions a, b and c the components of k run from 0 to nja, njb and n/c, respectively. As the direction of motion and the momentum of an electron can be reversed, we also allow for negative values of kx, ky and kz, with values that run from 0 to —nja etc. However, for the calculation of the energy states the positive values are sufficient, since according to equation (10.4) the energy of a wave function is E(k) = E(—k). 

PHI is the ratio of any two sequential numbers in the Fibonacci (V sequence. If you take the numbers 0 and 1, then create each subsequent number in the sequence by adding the previous two numbers, you get the Fibonacci sequence. For example, 0, 1,1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144. Ifyou sum the squares of any series of Fibonacci numbers, they will equal the last Fibonacci number used in the series times (10) the next Fibonacci number. This property results in the Fibonacci spiral seen in everything from seashells to galaxies, and is written mathematically as l2 + l2 + 22 + 32 + 52 = 5 x 8. 

Pay attention to the formatting expectations specified in this chapter, as small or as large as they may be. In all cases, check your punctuation (periods, commas, semicolons, parentheses, etc.), capitalization, fonts, bolding, sequential numbering, and, of course, clarity of presentation. Make sure that you mention thegraphic(s) by type and number (e.g.. Figure 2, Table 1, Scheme 3) in the text of your journal article, research proposal, or poster (unless you do not have room in your poster) before the reader encounters the actual graphic.

COC forms are usually printed as white originals with one or two attached carbon reproduction copies of different colors. A sequential number often (but not always) identifies each form this number is useful for sample tracking. The carbon copy stays at the project site as part of project records, and the original is sent with samples to the laboratory. The laboratory will in turn include a fully completed original COC form with the sample data package. (Technically, a fully completed COC form should include a record of sample disposal, but in reality this never happens because laboratories document sample disposal with internal records). 

Project numbers, site IDs, and other information that is the same for all of the collected samples do not enhance sample IDs. For example, sample numbers 12345-IR16-S-001, 12345-IR16-S-002, and 12345-IR16-S-003 contain only one unique identifier, which is the sequential number at the end of each ID. The rest of the ID just fills the space. 

Some databases will not accept samples with the same field ID. A unique identifier (a date or a sequential number) must be added to the monitoring well ID, for example, MW-1-120701, MW-2-120701, MW-3-120701 or MW-1-001, MW-2-002, MW-3-003. 

Study Plan Amendment A study plan amendment should be issued to document a planned change in study design before the event occurs. An amendment also may be issued as a result of unexpected occurrences during the study that will require significant action. Amendments should indicate the reason for the change and be sequentially numbered, dated, signed, and distributed to all recipients of the original study plan by the study director. 

It can be seen that a number of information in CM is redundant (each bond is listed twice) and that a large portion of matrix is empty (elements are equal to zero). This indicates the structure can be represented more economically with a table of constant width w. Such representation requires only wN instead of N variables. In the i-th row of the new representation w data associated with i-th atom (chemical symbol of the element, sequential numbers and bond types to its neighbors) are stored. Such representation is called the connection table of a chemical structure or CT (Fig. 4.2). 

A simple, sequential numbering system to identify SRVs may be acceptable for a small plant such as a batch-chemical processing facility with only a few dozen SRVs. However, for PPG s Lake Charles plant, a dual numbering system is used to keep up with 2,000 SRVs in service and several hundred additional SRVs in storage. The devices kept in storage onsite are used as spares or can be cannibalized for parts. Spare safety valves for critical equipment must be available. [8]... 

A further quality control measure that needs to be initiated at the planning phase of the project is the use of a random numbering system when collecting the samples. Systematic sample preparation and analysis errors can more easily be identified if the samples are collected in a random number order then prepared and analysed in sequential number order (Plant, 1973). Figure 5.2 illustrates this point showing that when collecting samples in sequential number order it is more difficult to distinguish...

Table of Contents. Once the IND has been formatted and assembled, a detailed table of contents should be prepared. Depending on the size of the initial IND filing, this table of contents may be contained only in volume 1 or preferably included as the first pages of each of the IND volumes. The table of contents should be sufficiently detailed that an FDA reviewer can easily access any specific topic or report contained in the IND. It is also preferable to sequentially number the IND for each volume, rather than to sequentially number the entire IND. Thus, in reference to a specific report or in cross-referencing, it is necessary to provide the volume number and the page number. 

As noted previously, the sponsor is required to wait 30 days after the submission of the IND before clinical investigations with the new drug may be instituted. Once the IND is in effect, all additional data and information submitted to that IND will be provided in the form of Protocol and Information Amendments, provided as sequentially numbered serial submissions.
