PAN MING HUANG, PiiD, FAAAS, FASA, FCSSS, FSSSA, FWIF, is Professor Emeritus of Soil Science at the University of Saskatchewan in SaskaicKUi, (Janada. Dr. Huang has authored over 500 refereed articles and bt>ok chapters, written two btM)ks, edited seventeen others, and served on many editorial boards. He received the Distinguished Researcher Award from the University of Saskatchewan and the Soil Science Research Award from the Soil Science Society of America. [Pg.660]

Dr. Marlene Jones is a senior researcher in Artificial Intelligence in the Alberta Research Council s Department of Advanced Technologies and an adjunct professor in the Department of Computational Science at the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to joining the Alberta Research Council in January 1987, Dr. Jones was a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo. Her qualifications include a PhD (Computer Science) from the University of Toronto and an MEd (location of Exceptional Children) from the University of Saskatchewan. Her research experience expands mote than a decade, with the last 8 years focussed upon research in the area of AI and Education. Dr Jones recent research projects include the development of expert systems for educational diagnosis, expert environments for curriculum and course development, and user modelling. [Pg.243]

Antonio Violante is professor of soil chemistry at the Department of Soil, Plant and Environmental Sciences, University of Naples Federico II, Italy, where he has been actively involved in research and teaching since 1970. He received his academic degree in chemistry from the University of Naples in 1969. He spent two sabbatical years at the University of Wisconsin, Madison (1976-1977) and the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada (1981-1982) and was invited to serve as a visiting professor in the Department of Soil Science at the University of Saskatchewan in 1985, 1992, and 2003. He was Head of the Dipartimento di Scienze Chimico-Agrarie from 1994 to 1999 and is coordinator of the Doctoral School in Agrobiology and Agrochemistry. [Pg.681]

Laurier L. Schramm has over 30 years of R D experience spanning all four sectors industry, not-for-profit, government and academia. He is currently President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Research Council and has previously served as Vice-President with the Alberta Research Council, and President and CEO of the Petroleum Recovery Institute. For much of this time, he served in parallel as Adjunct Professor of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering and before that as Adjunct Professor of Chemistry, both with the University of Calgary. His research interests include applied colloid science, interface science and nanoscience.
