Procedures submitted should be written in the style employed in the latest volume of Organic Syntheses. Copies of the current style sheet may be obtained upon request from the Secretary of the Editorial Board. Two copies of procedures which are submitted should be sent to the Secretary. Additions, corrections, and improvements to the [ireparations previously published are welcomed and should be sent to the Secretary. [Pg.121]

Another journal. Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), was started by another commercial publisher at about the same time as JMS. This had only one editor, a metallurgist, from the start, and so in spite of its stated objectives, it remained almost wholly metallurgical for many years. When eventually it became broader under a new editor, it was split into several independent journals with distinct editorial boards, each of them relatively broad-spectrum - in particular, one devoted to functional materials, and another to biomimetics. The main MSE remained in being, and has remained largely metallurgical after 35 years. [Pg.513]

Thanks are due to the authors for their cooperation, the members of the Editorial Board, and the publishers. I am especially grateful to the assistant editors. Dr. A. J. Boulton and Dr. J. M. Lagowski, for all their help. [Pg.427]

Chemists tend to be prolific authors. Some say they have a conceit of authorship, whereas others contend it is pride. Stacey was certainly proud of his many scientific papers (more than 350) and several books. In addition, he was founder-editor of three journals and he was a member of the editorial boards of several others. He was a supporter of Advances in Carbohydrate Chemistry from its inception. He served on the advisory board for many years, was associate editor, and contributed to early volumes. [Pg.5]

The advantage of the procedures in Organic Syntheses, compared with those found in original journals, is that these procedures are tested. Each preparation is carried out first by its author and then by a member of the Organic Syntheses editorial board, and only if the yield is essentially duplicated is the procedure published. While it is possible to repeat most... [Pg.1626]
