For this reason in this section we depart from our practice of discussing each synthesis in detail. In addition to all these considerations and possible routes for further work, there is also the salient point that first principles methods are, in principle, applicable to hypothetical and as yet unsynthesised systems. The implication of this is that the combination of such first principles techniques with state of the art molecular synthesis and characterisation technology holds substantial promise for solutions to structure property problems. 

In this chapter we give a brief review of some of the basic concepts of quantum mechanics with emphasis on salient points of this theory relevant to the central theme of the book. We focus particularly on the electron density because it is the basis of the theory of atoms in molecules (AIM), which is discussed in Chapter 6. The Pauli exclusion principle is also given special attention in view of its role in the VSEPR and LCP models (Chapters 4 and 5). We first revisit the perhaps most characteristic feature of quantum mechanics, which differentiates it from classical mechanics its probabilistic character. Flowchart C illustrates another topic of study. It can be considered a graphical translation of the English program on the next page. This is a special kind of flowchart called a "WHILE scheme". One of its salient points is that it has no "GOTOs" - the only loops are subsumed by the WHILE statements. We shall examine special structural properties of schemes, such as block form, and conversions to such forms these may really be considered syntactic properties of flowcharts since they depend primarily on the graph structure. Perhaps not surprisingly, the most thorough NMR studies of Knight shifts, Korringa relaxation, metal-insulator transitions, and the NMR of the dopant nuclei themselves have been carried out for doped silicon. The other main approach to solubility is to measure the concentration of the drug substance after an equilibrium has been reached with the solvent in question. These guidance documents can be read in full and the details will not be reproduced here. They should be consulted before the SmPC is drafted and the guidance followed. The first gives the overall layout of the SmPC and lists the salient points from data on reproduction to be included in Sections 4.6 and 5.3. 

A model that is consistent with the observed free radical intermediates trapped in crystalline deoxyoligonucleotides x-irradiated at 4 K and warmed to RT has been published [144]. Here we review the salient points of that model and then extend it to other types of DNA samples.
