Electrical safety

The proper installation of electrical equipment is very important from tlie standpoint of safety. Electrical equipment should be grounded for protection of both personnel and equipment. [Pg.200]

Whenever a person is connected to an electrical device by a grounded conductive pathway that is low resistance, such as through biopotential electrodes, there is a concern about electrical safety. Electric voltages that ordinarily would be harmless to casual skin contact can become dangerous or even lethal if someone happens to be well grounded. Wetted skin can provide low resistance, and from this stems the old adage about the inadvisability of standing in pools of water when around electric appliances. [Pg.427]

A permanent label must also be fixed in a visible position at or near the point of connection of the bonding conductor with the words Safety Electrical Connection - Do Not Remove (lET Regulation 514.13.1). Supplementary bonding is described later in this book. [Pg.160]

The bonding connection must be made to a cleaned pipe, using a suitable bonding clip. Fixed at, or near, the connection must be a permanent label saying Safety electrical connection - do not remove (lET Regulation 514.3.1), as shown in Fig. 3.80. [Pg.255]

Safety personnel can help lab safety by providing training, resources, and consultation for a variety of laboratory safety issues, including chemical safety, biological safety, electrical safety, laser safety, radiation safety, and other topics. They can also review the chanical hygiene plan, help develop and maintain laboratory safety manuals, conduct exposure monitoring, inspect fume hoods, and perform safety audits. [Pg.355]

There are two approaches to assuring the reliability of the safety-related system Class IE power supplies for future plants. The first approach is to restrict the connection of primarily safety loads to Class IE power supplies. [In previous designs, non-safety electrical equipment was connected to Class lE power supplies (i.e., the emergency diesel generators) to provide a source of power during Loss-Of-Offsite-Power (LOOP) events.]... [Pg.222]

Polyarylates are presently used in a wide variety of end-use applications and also show potential for future applications. Presently, polyarylates find use in the automotive, safety, electrical and electronics, and exterior construction and lighting areas. [Pg.5957]
