Quality Control Plan

A Quality Control Program includes a Quality Control Plan and the actual testing during and after construction as well as the subsequent interpretation of the results. The Quality Control Plan should include  [Pg.417]

In general, dredging and filling operations progress rapidly and are frequently subject to changes. It is essential that daily aspects and problems related to quality control can be handled by the site organisation since time for consultation might not always be available. Off-site backup support should be available in case of special problems or test results that are in non-compliance with Contract specifications. [Pg.417]

All works specified for the project should be monitored and tested and records of such inspections and tests should be documented and maintained throughout the construction period. It is recommended to utihse approved and certified laboratories [Pg.417]

As part of the Quality Control Program the Client/Engineer often requires the Contractor to submit a Method Statement for all activities related to monitoring and testing. It is important that all parties agree on such a document before the start of the dredging and reclamation works. [Pg.418]

It is not realistic to specify a standard format for a Quality Control Program prescribing a fixed number of monitoring devices such as Settlement Markers, Cone Penetration Tests, Plate Load Tests, Zone Load Tests, etc. for land reclamation projects. Lor the definition of such a program it should be realised what has to be monitored and, in particular, why it is to be monitored. The main goal of quality control is to verify whether the specified dimensions of the reclamation and the quality as well as the performance requirements of the fill mass are satisfied. Examples of aspects that need monitoring in land reclamation projects using hydraulic fill material are presented below  [Pg.418]

Matching the Quality Control Effort to the Size of the Winery. The quality control plan can be as deep or as shallow as the individual winery manager desires to make it. It is essential that he determine what his needs are from a quality control program. Sizing the quality control effort to fit the winery and fulfilling this effort is his major goal. Many wineries today turn the Phase I quality control effort over to departments that do more than quality control, partially because of small company size. [Pg.222]

The laboratory quality control program has several components documentation of standard operating procedures for all analytical methods, periodic determination of method detection levels for the analytes, preparation of standard calibration curves and daily check of calibration standards, analysis of reagent blank, instrument performance check, determination of precision and accuracy of analysis, and preparation of control charts. Determination of precision and accuracy of analysis and method detection limits are described under separate subheadings in the following sections. The other components of the quality control plan are briefly discussed below. [Pg.22]

The total control program monitors and provides appropriate feedback and corrective actions. Generally, activity within each business process has its own defined quality control plan. These activities include but are not limited to... [Pg.426]

As with the quality control plan for the formulator described above, acceptance tests on adhesives should be directed toward assurance that incoming materials are identical from lot to lot. However, this plan should also extend to the receipt and control of incoming adherends and other materials used in the bonding process. [Pg.429]

The sixth step in the design of an air monitoring survey is the development of a quality assurance and quality control plan. This plan should include specific sampling procedures, calibration procedures and frequency, sample custody, analytical procedures, data reduction, internal quality control checks, performance and system audits, completeness, and corrective action. [Pg.273]

Secondly, there was a very great Input from the private sector Into the process. As Dr. Baruch has pointed out from the beginning, industrial Innovation occurs in private industry, at the level of the firm. Over 100 executives participated directly as members of the Advisory Subcommittee from Private Industry, and significant staff resources were volunteered as well. We made a deliberate attempt to Involve not only the Vice Presidents or Directors of R D, but also Chief Executive Officers, Chairmen and Presidents Vice Presidents and Directors of nanufacturlng, environmental quality control, planning, accounting and finance, etc, and attorneys, chief economists, and the like. We wanted viewpoints which represented all aspects of the innovation decision process - not just R D - and we got them. [Pg.116]

Each material will have its own specifications on the individutil grades available tmd on their properties, applications, and comparative costs. The unique specifications of a materieil will distinguish it from aU competing materials and wdl serve as the tosis for quality control, planning, and inspection. [Pg.1316]

As mentioned earlier, the AASHTO LRFD specifications stipulate that a 0.005 radian allowance for uncertainties be included in the design of steel reinforced elastomeric bearings. This allowance applies to rotation in each opposing direction. Commentary within the AASHTO LRFD specifications states that an owner may reduce this allowance if justified by a suitable quality control plan. In the absence of a very specific implementable plan, this is inadvisable given that 0.005 radians corresponds to a slope of only about 1/16 in. in 12 in. [Pg.13]

Because of its known toxicity, the selenium discharge limits as set by the Clean Water Act are low (0.260 mg/L maximum, 0.035 mg/L continuous for selenium) (5). The maximum allowable level in drinking water is even lower (0.01 mg/L). Yet, in amending the water quality control plan for the San Joaquin Basin to include water quality objectives for selenium, the California State Water Resources Control Board (6) adopted an even lower limit of 0.005 mg/L on selenium concentration in the San Joaquin River. The low limit is based on ecological impacts to fish and waterfowl (7). [Pg.343]

Technical Specifications normally prescribe requirements applicable for hydraulic fill structures after completion of the construction. A Quality Control Plan should, however, also pay attention to the above-mentioned failure mechanisms during the actual execution of the works. [Pg.424]
