Keep in mind that many people from a variety of disciplines must be involved in making a process work and developing a successful product. The life cycle of most products includes basic research, applied research, development, scaleup, quality control, cost and profit evaluations, market research, market development, sales, and technical service to make a product grow and mature. Every person involved in this project must know something about the rest of the cycle, in addition to contributing a specific expertise to the cycle. [Pg.28]

In the final analysis, market price and sales volume are functions of the quality standards offered and the buyer s degree of confidence that the product will conform to the standards. Maintenance of buyer s confidence requires inspection to screen out all nonconforming products, or control over variability of quality during production and distribution to a degree where few, if any, products fail to meet the standards. The Ml test equipment is easy to operate, provides repeatable results, and low cost to operate. It is widely used for quality control and for distinguishing between members of a single family of plastics. Specifically, this MI makes a single-point test that provides information on resistance to flow at only a single shear rate.
