Production permit

The carbon-carbon bond forming potential inherent m the Claisen and Dieckmann reac tions has been extensively exploited m organic synthesis Subsequent transformations of the p keto ester products permit the synthesis of other functional groups One of these transformations converts p keto esters to ketones it is based on the fact that p keto acids (not esters ) undergo decarboxylation readily (Section 19 17) Indeed p keto acids and their corresponding carboxylate anions as well lose carbon dioxide so easily that they tend to decarboxylate under the conditions of their formation... [Pg.893]

Pressure leaf filters are used to separate much the same lands of slurries as are filter presses and are used much more extensively than filter presses for filter-aid filtrations. They should be seriously considered whenever uniformity of production permits long-time operation under essentially constant filtration conditions, when thorough washing with a minimum of hquor is desired, or when vapors or fumes make closed construction desirable. Under such conditions, if the filter medium does not require frequent changing, they may show a considerable advantage in cycle and labor economy over a filter press, which has a lower initial cost, and advantages of economy and flexibility over continuous vacuum filters, which have a higher first cost. [Pg.1714]

If you choose to accept a nonconforming item as is without rework, repair, etc., you are in effect granting a concession or waiving the requirement onI[/ for that particular item. If the requirements cannot be achieved at all, this is not a situation for a concession but a case for a change in requirement. If you know in advance of producing the product or service that it will not conform with the requirements, you can then request a deviation from the requirements. This is often referred to as a production permit. Concessions apply after the product has been produced, production permits apply before it has been produced and both are requests that should be made to the acceptance authority for the product. [Pg.441]

Specify how production permits (deviations) and concessions (waivers) should be requested, evaluated, and approved or rejected. [Pg.442]

When two solutions are mixed, a precipitate may form. For example, suppose solutions of calcium chloride, CaCl2, and sodium sulfate, Na2S04, are mixed. The mixture contains both calcium ions, Ca+1, and sulfate ions, S04-2, so solid calcium sulfate may form. The solubility product permits us to predict with confidence whether it will or not. [Pg.175]

Three weeks later, it drew up plans to produce 472 tons of "stabilizers" every month. The Farben "stabilizers" were used in gunpowder to prevent premature explosion. These plans were secret. This quantity, 472 tons, was enough to sustain the production of 11,875 tons of gunpowder every month. This was ten times the production permitted under the applicable treaties for all explosives, including dynamite. [Pg.93]

This writer s explanation for these results is that reduction of (Ph-CH=CH2-PtCl2)2 in the absence of sufficient olefin to stabilize the product permitted Pt(0) to form. After this formed, subsequent addition of styrene did not form soluble active catalytic species. As a result, MeCl2SiH in the absence of styrene destroyed much of the catalytic activity of the solutions in 10 minutes. [Pg.414]

The use of fluorescent substrates or products permits sensitive kinetic measurement of enzyme reactions to be undertaken and although there are relatively few natural fluorescent substrates, analogues can sometimes be used (Table 8.7). Some products can be converted to fluorescent compounds and can be used in fixed time assays. [Pg.290]

Assumes water contains maximum level of by-product permitted by EPA most water supplies contain less. [Pg.307]

Heat dissipation can also be achieved by increased production of sweat, because evaporation of sweat on the skin surface consumes heat (evaporative heat loss). Shivering is a mechanism to generate heat. Autonomic neural regulation of cutaneous blood flow and sweat production permit homeostatic control of body temperature (A). [Pg.202]

Eyring also stated (Ref 3> p 98, as quoted in Ref 4, p 201) that release of energy by lateral expansion of the products permits stabilization of one of the sub-ideal states in the shock front. Of the hydro-dynamic equations only that of continuity, expressing the constancy of mass velocity, is perturbed by the expansion... [Pg.422]

Folkins, USP 2460200(1949) CA 45, 10565(1951) (Addition of small quantities of explosives, such as Ethyl Hypochlorite, TNT Benzazide etc to the hydrocarbons undergoing cracking, increases the yields of desirable products, permits carrying the reaction at lower temp and in shorter time)... [Pg.338]

The Czech Republic has set a maximum limit for plastic materials for di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate of 50 mg/g as a component of plastic products permitted for contact with food (UNEP, 1999). [Pg.57]

On the other hand, we believe that greater attention should be focused to the fact that metal ions will form chelated complexes with azo compounds. Hence a vigorous post treatment with acids should be attempted if the stability of the product permits. Usually this treatment should be carried out before a final crystallization. [Pg.413]

Glucose-galactose syrups are about three times sweeter than lactose (70% as sweet as sucrose) and hence lactose-hydrolysed milk could be used in the production of ice-cream, yoghurt or other sweetened dairy products, permitting the use of less sucrose and reducing caloric content. However, such applications have not been commercially successful. [Pg.55]

Scented Waters.—All substances which, yield essential oils, give at the same time a scented water of superior excellence for example, orange flower water and the difference iii the density of the two products permits their separation in the manner just described. There are some materials, again, which are too feeble in odor to give an attar, and may yet be made to impart their scent to water. In either of those cases, and also when it may be desired to obtain ooly a water from those substances which would yield an essential oil, the quantity of water employed must be much larger than for the oil distillations. And for the reason, that now the object is to obtain solution of all the essential oil In water, and not to promote the separation of the two, as before directed. [Pg.671]

The reaction products are C (main product) and D, the latter being the most volatile component and C being the least volatile (heavy) component in the reaction mixture. Separation of C as a bottom product permits increased conversion, while at the same time yields the product in concentrated form. [Pg.353]

Co-location of Gene and Gene Product Permits Redox Regulation of Gene Expression... [Pg.48]

Other types of discontinuous flow reactors may be used for transient kinetic studies in which, for example, isotopically labelled reactants are widely used in kinetic studies. This kind of investigation has been particularly developed in the case of discontinuous flow reactors. A different instrument called TAP (for Temporal Analysis of Products) permits extremely sensitive detection of intermediates or products. The results obtained with these various instruments can provide information about reaction mechanisms. [Pg.564]

Assays for biological activity, where applicable, should be part of the pivotal stability studies. Appropriate physicochemical, biochemical and immunochemical methods for the analysis of the molecular entity and the quantitative detection of degradation products should also be part of the stability program whenever purity and molecular characteristics of the product permit use of these methodologies. [Pg.22]
