Physical data collection

Recently reported physical data for quinoxaline and its salts etc are collected under quinoxaline in the Appendix (Table of Simple Quinoxalines), at the end of this book. More notable studies on the properties of quinoxaline or reduced quinoxaline are briefly indicated here with references. [Pg.94]

After the data collection phase of a clinical trial is completed and its collected data are analyzed, collected data are archived centrally, usually at the coordinating center, for future reference. The data archive method depends on the data collection system. In paper-based data collection system, the physical paper forms may need to be archived for a specified period of time. Scanning... [Pg.627]

Additional examples of variability in data collection (which, in turn, affects data interpretation) include questionnaires and physical exam forms. Questionnaires often utilize open-ended questions that allow great variability in the type and extent of adverse event information gathered. Physical exam forms—even when designed in a checklist format—may elicit variable collection of adverse event data what is a serious event to one clinician may not be serious to another. [Pg.661]

In order to provide more insight into transference numbers, ionic conductivities and ion mobilities, some data collected by Maclnnes2 are given in Table 2.1 and 2.2 the data for A0 were taken from the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, 61st ed. all measurements were made at 25° C in aqueous solutions. [Pg.33]

Sometimes you may also see quality-of-life (QOL) data collected for your clinical trial. Quality-of-life data are collected to measure the overall physical and mental well-being of a patient. These data are usually collected with a multiple-question patient questionnaire and may be summed up into an aggregate patient score for analysis. Some commonly used quality-of-life questionnaires are the SF-36 and SF-12 Health Survey, but there are quite a few disease-specific QOL questionnaires available to clinical researchers. [Pg.40]

Activities encompassed by the stability program include sample storage of either development or production batches (or both), data collection and storage/retrieval, physical, chemical, and microbiological testing, document preparation of regulatory... [Pg.168]

The role of the Pt-Ba interaction in the mechanism of adsorption of NO species was also studied by a kinetic model reported in the literature [16]. The model, which consists of 10 elementary reversible steps, is based on the oxidation of NO to N02 over Pt and on the storage of N02 over Ba, and it was used to simulate the data collected over both the physical mixture and the ternary Pt-Ba/y-Al203 1/20/100 w/w sample. A spillover reaction between Pt and Ba oxide sites has also been included in the model to account for the observed lower thermal stability of Ba-nitrates in the presence of Pt [16]. Essentially, the model assumes that the adsorption of NO proceeds through the nitrate route and does not consider the nitrite route. [Pg.188]

These findings were further confirmed by data collected under isothermal conditions. Upon hydrogen addition at 350°C on the physical mixture previously saturated with NO species at the same temperature, no reaction products were detected. This indicated that the stored nitrates could not be regenerated by H2 at constant temperature, i.e. without a prior release in the gas phase. [Pg.198]

An Instron Tensile Tester Model TM was Interfaced to a micro-computer for data collection and transmission to a minicomputer. A FORTRAN program was developed to allow data analysis by the minicomputer. The program generates stress-strain curves from the raw data, calculates physical parameters, and produces reports and plots. [Pg.123]

Analysis result, n - the numerical or qualitative estimate of a physical, chemical, or quality parameter produced by applying the calibration model to the spectral data collected by an instmment according to specified measurement conditions. [Pg.509]

We were interested in examining the corresponding monolayer photolysis products of the diazenes as a function of surface pressure. This goal was not reached due to our inability to collect enough material from the film balance experiment (typically, 1016 molecules per run) for HPLC analysis. However, the physical data acquired by interfacial techniques has given information about the nature of the aggregates and their diastereoselectivity. [Pg.108]

In the U.S., race has been used as a proxy for a variety of physical, mental, and social dimensions. The legacy of racism still pervades society, including disparity in access to health care and in health care outcomes (see chapter by Nsiah-Jefferson, this volume). In attempting to eliminate these health disparities there have been efforts to include racial and ethnic minorities in research studies and to generate better data on racial and ethnic variations in health status. Although most policy makers and commentators believe that racial classifications in data collection and outcomes research are needed to eliminate health disparities, others believe that such policies prolong the use of a flawed concept and reify race as a pseudoscientific measure (Lee et al., 2001). [Pg.326]

Determine which fire main is to be analyzed. Within this segment select the hydrants that are the most remote on the system from the source of supply. (Most remote is intended to mean the most remote hydraulically and the selected hydrants may not be the most remote physically). A test hydrant and flow hydrant(s) are identified. The data collected will refer to the test hydrant. The flow hydrant is the next downstream hydrant(s) from the test hydrant. [Pg.254]

Particle tracking also produced trajectory paths of the Pt/Au nanorods based on displacement data collected for the head and tail of each nanorod. The head is defined as the direction in which the nanorod moves. The trajectory paths clearly distinguish the motion of a Pt/Au nanorod from that of a Brownian colloidal cylinder moving under the influence of thermal energy (Fig. 3.1). In addition, the trajectory path helps visualize some of the defined physical parameters. [Pg.27]

Calculation of ADME predictions is now routine and often high throughput. However, unlike many published studies in which calculated properties are validated with experimental data for a diverse collection of molecules, for virtual small-molecule libraries, there are usually no physical data to validate the predictions. Often, the molecules that are the subject of calculation are dissimilar to those molecules used to develop prediction tools. As a result, one is usually looking for trends in the prediction as a function of the selection of specific diversity reagents around a common core or scaffold. Thus, it is important to consider predicted molecular properties with care and to interpret the results with the proper level of expectation. [Pg.407]

There are different approaches to estimating the toxicity of various PHs. One method is to examine the known individual compounds in each PH fraction, based on the data collected for a limited number of compounds and assuming the known materials are representative of the entire mixture. A second method is to divide the mixture into several fractions that contain substances with similar chemical and physical properties, which therefore are considered to have comparable toxicity. A third approach is to consider the entire mixture. The actual content of each mixture depends mainly on the origin of the PH and the distillate fractions. [Pg.83]

Differences in data collection practices make reliance on federal figures problematic. For example, some data on African American chemists are reported for U.S. citizens and permanent visas for certain years, while other data are reported for U.S bom citizens for different years. Unfortunately, some data are reported for academic years, while others are presented for calendar years. Moreover, some data are aggregated as the physical sciences, while other data are disaggregated by discipline. Some professional societies report data based only on their membership. To the extent possible, 1 shall report the most recent, complete data available on U.S. bom citizens. [Pg.21]

The fragility of the five data types will depend on the specific circumstances of the incident. It is not possible to offer a prescribed priority. In general, historical paper data such as procedures, maintenance records, and drawings are less fragile than people and physical data. The team should identify time-sensitive data as one of its first tasks, prioritize the data, and implement measures to collect or preserve the data. [Pg.122]

If the team contains enough members, it can separate the data collection tasks. For example, two team members can perform personnel interviews, two can identify and preserve physical data and its associated position data, and two can gather electronic and paper data. The individual... [Pg.122]
