Compared to the Category Test, SSP and SRT results show a relatively mixed performance profile. This profile is indicative of temporal lobe impairment and may explain the idiosyncratic character of PCP-induced brain dysfunction. Other HRB subtest data suggest that parietal lobe-mediated functions are less influenced by PCP abuse, since approximately 30 percent of this sample had error-free performances on a test sensitive to finger agnosia. [Pg.212]

One example of a new class of compound in this area is dioctyl carbonate (1, Table 4.9). The product is synthesized by the trans-esterification reaction of octa-nol and dimethyl carbonate in the presence of alkali catalyst (Fig. 4.20). Dioctyl carbonate (Cetiol CC) is a dry emollient with excellent dermatological compatibility and a comprehensive and convincing performance profile for various appli-... [Pg.95]

Properties of carborane-siloxanes can be readily modified through changes in the polymer backbone and by the use of supplementary agents in order to optimize the property-performance profile for different use situations. [Pg.455]

There is a need for an accurate assessment of the mechanism of cathodic debonding of thick adherends. This would contribute to better control over the selection of formulations resistant to attack. One of the objectives of this work was to develop an accelerated screening test. The screening test was used to evaluate the relative performance profiles of a number of commercial adhesives which were recommended for marine applications. It is hoped that a screening test such as this one could be used to isolate measurable primer properties which can be related to the long term prospectus of the primer, and the variability of this prospectus under permutation of substrate type or additives. [Pg.170]

The pH performance profiles of each membrane after forty hours exposure to 3.0 ppm chlorine are shown in Figures 2, 3, and 4. Membrane U-1 shows a typical performance decline with greatest effect at pH 3.0. The decline is progressive (Figure 5) and results in nearly complete membrane failure after 64 hours of exposure. [Pg.176]

The next set of experiments were designed to compare chlorine with bromine and iodine in terms of membrane sensitivity. Experiments with A-2 and X-2 were run for forty hours but U-1 was exposed for only 16 hours because of rapid deterioration on exposure to bromine. Concentrations of all halogens were equivalent to 3 ppm CI2 on a molar basis. Performance profiles for membranes U-1, A-2 and X-2 are shown in Figures 8, 9, and 10 respectively. Only product flux is reported in this case since it appears to be a more sensitive indicator of performance changes. [Pg.181]

In this paper, principles and potential of the catalytic performance profiling is introduced and illustrated with respect to the identification of a suitable Pd/C catalyst for selective hydrogenation of a hydroxy-olefm from a library of diverse palladium catalysts. [Pg.488]

Methodology In Figure 1 a) and b) the principles of catalytic profiling analysis are explained Catalytic profiling analysis includes a set of test reactions which are very sensitive with respect to catalyst properties and/or the recipes of preparation. From activity and selectivity values measured for a set of test reactions (Fig. la) corresponding performance profiles (Fig. lb)) can be derived which can be understood as catalytic fingerprints for individual catalysts. Thus, performance profiles allow a statistical analysis of similarities (Fig. lb). [Pg.488]

The SSG was created in this manner to give a broad overview of the EHS performance profile of solvents and highlight any areas that would have major issues to eliminate, mitigate, or manage. The most recent addition to the SSG was the LCA score. The LCA score is based on a life cycle inventory (LCI) of each solvent and includes the impact categories shown in Table 3.6. The unique aspect of the LCA score is that it is based on a very comprehensive list of factors which contribute to a solvent s environmental impact, which includes the waste generation from... [Pg.69]

The purpose of this guide is to provide chemists and engineers with a simple but not si mplislic tool that permits them to make decisions about using alternative solvents that have a better overall EH S performance profile. As is readily seen from Table 3.7, every solvent has a range of EHS performance that is, there is no perfect solvent and one or more issues will have to be managed if a solvent is used. In many cases it can be quite difficult to find replacement solvents, but every effort should be made to do so for solvents that have a poor EHS performance profile relative to other solvents in their class. The end result of the GSK SSG is to reduce the number of solvents used in a process, substitute or eliminate the use of highly hazardous solvents, and reduce the amount of each solvent used. [Pg.70]

Analysis approach - corn and sorghum A two-tiered approach was also used to characterize the benefits associated with uses of atrazine and simazine in corn and sorghum. First, a comparative analysis was made of product labels. The following parameters were considered in this review performance profiles, including efficacy, spectrum, and crop tolerance label comparisons physical and chemical characteristics of the product hazard profiles economic benefits and other relevant issues, such as use restrictions, etc. [Pg.167]

These environmentally degradable polyolefins, because of their cost/ performance profiles are very competitive for the growing markets for such plastics. They will be strong competition for the polyester types such as poly(lactic acid) and polyhydroxyalkanoates so frequently publicized as the innovative solution to plastic waste management. [Pg.31]

These products are widely available in a number of formulations including the fibrous and fabric absorbents previously described, plus other materials combined to meet some aspects of the acceptable performance profile. [Pg.1027]

When auditing a site or a plant, we rely on clearly defined criteria to produce an environmental and safety profile. Separate audits are conducted to determine the occupational health conditions at a facility. A site s performance profile covers both hard facts such as accident numbers and emission levels, as well as soft facts such as effective organizational structures, defined responsibilities, and a... [Pg.415]

PBO is widely used in a variety of formulations throughout the world. From a consumer standpoint it has helped to provide ail economical and efficient product From a formula or viewpoint it has provided flexibility and an excellent cost-performance profile, as well is good solvency properties. Its continued predominance is largely unchallenged, as it has no equal nor any direct challenger in sight. [Pg.287]
