Organizational structures

The structure of the operating organization of the facility shall be described in diis section. The key personnel and the groups at the various operating levels of the facility should be illustrated in an operational diagram. The functions, authority and responsibUity of key personnel in the operating organization shall be described. 

This section shall provide data for the personnel required during the different operational states of the reactor. 

The roles and responsibilities such as ownership, technical support, and QA should be defined. Depending on the level of planning, these may be departmental roles and responsibihties, or corporate. Individuals should not be named instead, their job titles should be identified.

Organizational structures and reporting relationships within the plant engineering function and in relation to other functions are as unique as each business enterprise and individual plant. Yet, some common stmctures can be identified. 

Organizational cultures are influenced by many factors, such as the vision of fhe founder, the economic and market environment, technology and organizational structure (Handy, 1993). Another factor that impacts on organizational culture is national culture (Schneider and Barsoux, 1997). Leaving aside for a momenf individual differences, every nation is fhought to hold a set of beliefs, values and behaviours fhaf are considered unique to them.
