Canadian Patents Database, http //patentsl.ic.gc.ca/ (accessed August 9, 2010). Developed by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, this site covers patent data from 1869 to the present. Patent images are available from 1920 to the present day. Online searching is limited to bibliographic data before 1978, such as titles, names and classification. Abstract and claims searching is available for the most recent patents. [Pg.26]

The aerospace industry is a complex enterprise with research and production activities taking place in the commercial, military, and government sectors. There are search engines and numerous sites available for retrieving information on technical reports, parts and components, news, vendors, standards, patents, images, and companies. Several of these sites are covered in other sections of this chapter. The sites discussed here are representative of the types of additional resources that can be found on the Web. [Pg.57]

The World Patent Index of Derwent Information Ltd. is a broad collection of international value-added patent documents from 40 patent-issuing authorities. The bibliographic database contains 11.6 million patent records with 5.5 million images (October, 2002) and grows by 1.5 million patent documents each year. The classified and indexed documents (since 1963) are sometimes provided wdth additional abstracts or significant titles. [Pg.270]

The addition of 2,2, 4,4, 6-pentanitro-6 -methyldiphenylamine [64653-47-0] to seawater precipitates potassium (38). Aromatic amines, especially aminotetrahydronaphthalenes and their A[-aryl derivatives, are efficient flotation agents for quartz. The use of DPA for image formation in films has been patented (39,40). Diarylamines are used as intermediates (41) for azo, sulfur, oxidative base, triaryhnethane, oxazine, nitro, and safranine dyes (see Dyes and DYE INTERLffiDIATES). [Pg.245]

The process used to make the proof involves the same lamination, exposure, and peel-apart steps shown before. Different photoactive systems having variants on the peel-developable system, ie, dual exposures to achieve a right-reading image on receptor or transfer processes, are reported in the patent hterature (53,54). [Pg.42]

In addition to a continued increase in the number of use patents in these fields, a new use of xanthates as inhibitors of fertiliser nitrogen transformation in soil has been reported, as well as the use of certain metal xanthates as color developers for image-recording materials (113,114) (see Fertilizers Color photography). For several years, sodium isopropyl xanthate was used as an intermediate in the manufacture of saccharin (see... [Pg.367]

A useful classification of sensitizing dyes is the one adopted to describe patents in image technology. In Table 1, the Image Technology Patent Information System (ITPAIS), dye classes and representative patent citations from the ITPAIS file are Hsted as a function of significant dye class. From these citations it is clear that preferred sensitizers for silver haUdes are polymethine dyes (cyanine, merocyanine, etc), whereas other semiconductors have more evenly distributed citations. Zinc oxide, for example, is frequendy sensitized by xanthene dyes (qv) or triarylmethane dyes (see Triphenylmethane and related dyes) as well as cyanines and merocyanines (see Cyanine dyes). [Pg.429]

ITPAIS, the Image Technology Patent Information System was developed between 1975—1985 by Eastman Kodak Co., Agfa-Gevaert (Antwerp/Leverkusen), and Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., and encompasses selected patents and Hterature references related principally to the chemical aspects of image technology. Search terms used for this table were the same as in the previous edition, and the Derwent patent database was used for the search data presented here. [Pg.429]

Reproducibility was provided by the calotype" process, patented in 1841 by the English landowner W. H. Fox Talbot, which used semi-transparent paper treated with Agl and a developer , gallic acid. This produced a negative from which any number of positive prints could subsequently be obtained. Furthermore it embodied the important discovety of the latent image which could be fully developed later. Even with Talbot s very coarse papers, exposure times were reduced to a few minutes and portraits became feasible, even if uncomfortable for the subject. [Pg.1186]

Ishida, Y. K. Y Otsuka, K. I. M. (Orient Chemical Ind.). Electrostatic Image Toners. G. B. Patent Application... [Pg.578]

Electronic Materials. Applications of photopolymer technology to electronic products is probably one of the largest imaging categories in terms of sales and total number of patents and publications. A wide variety of products have been developed for the production of printed wiring boards (PWB) and the manufacture of integrated circuits (IC). [Pg.7]
