Production pastes

Both the positive and negative pastes are prepared as a doughlike material by following these steps and using a mechanical mixer  [Pg.34]

Conventional mechanical mixers are batch type. The paste viscosity will rise at the beginning of paste mixing, but will then gradually decrease. Mixing of paste [Pg.34]

Metal poHshes may contain emulsifiers and thickeners for controlling the consistency and stabilization of abrasive suspensions, and the product form can be soHd, paste, or Hquid. Liquid and paste products can be solvent or emulsion types the market for the latter is growing. Formulas for metal poHshes are Hsted ia Reference 12. A representative Hquid emulsion product may contain 8—25 wt % abrasive, 2—6 wt % surfactant, 0—5 wt % chelating agents, and 0—25 wt % solvent, with the remainder being water. The abrasive content ia an emulsion paste product is greater than that ia a solvent product. [Pg.211]

The chelated calcium cementing materials are suppHed as two-part paste products. In use, equal parts of the two pastes are thoroughly mixed together to give a fluid mass that can be appHed without pressure over an exposed tooth pulp or in a deep-seated cavity. Under the influence of the oral temperature and humidity, the fluid mass sets to a hard, strong, therapeutic protective seal. [Pg.475]

The second catalyst paste of the two-paste product is a curing agent. A wide variety of materials convert the Hquid polysulfide polymers to elastomeric products. Alkalies, sulfur, metallic oxides, metallic peroxides, organic peroxides, and many metal—organic salts, ie, paint driers, are all potential curing agents. [Pg.492]

Bulk Blenders Vlanv of the mixers used for solids blending (Sec, 19) are also suitable for some liquid-solids blending. Ribbon blenders can be used for such tasks as wetting out or coating a powder, When the final paste product is not too fluid, other solids-handling equipment finds frequent use. [Pg.1647]

From past production operations at Hanford, approximately 100 old single-shell tanks contain varying amounts of sludge and plutonium. [Pg.360]

Pa from Th during scavenging casts doubt over the use of ( " Pa XS /" °Thxs)° to assess past productivity. Certainly, previous results must be reconsidered in the light of this knowledge (Chase et al., in press-b). The good news. [Pg.514]

Figure 10. An example of the use of ( Paxs/ °Thxs) to reconstruct past productivity taken from Chase et al. (in press-a). Data is from a core in the Southern Pacific (AESOPS Station 6 at 61° 52.5 S, 169° 58.3 W). The downcore record of ( Pa/ °Th)xs,o indicates an increase in opal productivity centered at 15 ka. This productivity increase is also seen in the records of two other productivity proxies— the opal accumulation and Ba accumulation rates. Downcore records of these sediment constituents are also shown and have been converted from concentrations to accumulation fluxes by normalizing to the known °Thx, flux. Figure 10. In the past, product-related standards in the European waste law were rare. This changed with the triumphal success of everyday electronic gadgets and the associated increase in e-scrap. The EC Directive 2002/96/EC - better known as the WEEE directive - aimed to combat the increasing amount of e-waste from electrical and electronic devices [8]. Goal is the avoidance, reduction, and environment-friendly disposal of increasing amounts of electronic waste through extended producer responsibility. This goal has been hindered by a number of pollutants that are included in the devices (RISKCYCLE). [Pg.140]

Production, Use, Release and Disposal. Substantial data exist on past production, use and emissions of acrylonitrile in the United States. Data on current releases to the environment and disposal practices are collected under SARA 313. Additional studies are not needed at this time because these data are readily available. [Pg.89]

Although a fried cowpea paste product such as akara is unfamiliar to consumers in the Western world, this use for cowpeas may have application as a snack food or as a bread-like accompaniment for fish or poultry. Legumes already play an important role in the diets of the world s population. Applications in which legumes perform successfully increase the potential for extending their usage even further. [Pg.22]

The sensitive layers that have been used throughout this book were produced and deposited by AppliedSensor (AS, Reutlingen, Germany). Although metal-oxide-based microhotplate-sensors are already commercially available, a brief description of the paste production is given for the sake of completeness. The process is detailed in [82]. [Pg.16]

B.P. by about 1000 years. This is somewhat more than the typical one sigma statistical error for his age range. However, it is likely that fluctuations in past production rates and the effects of other as yet undocumented geophysical variations make the correction of such values by only the Cambridge half-life figure somewhat questionable. [Pg.59]

Type F toxin was only associated with two reported outbreaks of human foodbome botulism prior to 1998 (Maselli, 1998). The first of these outbreaks occurred in Denmark (on the Island of Langeland) and was attributed to a contaminated liver paste product (Muller and Scheibel, 1960 Richardson et al, 2004). The second outbreak, in 1966, affected three individuals in California and was associated with home-made venison jerky (Midura et al, 1972 Richardson et al, 2004). While a few other type F botulism cases have been reported, they are generally thought to have resulted from intestinal colonization and type F toxin production by another related species, C. baratii (Hall et al, 1985 Richardson et al, 2004). A recent report of a type F botulism case in California provided some additional insight into this uncommon toxin... [Pg.412]

Sodium or potassium hexacyanoferrate(II) or mixtures of these salts are used in most cases. When the pure sodium salt or a calcium hexacyanoferrate(II) solution is used, the pigment properties are obtained by adding a potassium or ammonium salt during the precipitation of the white paste product or prior to the oxidation stage. The iron(II) salt used is crystalline iron(II) sulfate or iron(II) chloride solution. [Pg.146]
