The stacks are moved and again separated into individual panels where they pass a grading station. Those panels requiring touch-up or repair move to the repair stations. Panels then move to the trim saws where edges are trimmed to the final desired size, normally 1220 x 2440 mm (4x8 ft.). Panels are then touch-sanded to final thickness, and pre-finished as desired. Those panels with high quaUty decorative veneer faces are usually filled, stained to the desired tone, and finished with a clear finish. [Pg.382]

Space needs to be provided for the auxiliaries, including the lube oil and seal systems, lube oil cooler, intercoolers, and pulsation dampeners. A control panel or console is usually provided as part of the local console. This panel contains instmments that provide the necessary information for start-up and shutdown, and should also include warning and trouble lights. Access must be provided for motor repair and ultimate replacement needs to be considered. If a steam turbine is used, a surface condenser is probably required with a vacuum system to increase the efficiency. AH these additional systems need to be considered in the layout and spacing. In addition, room for pulsation dampeners required between stages has to be included. Aftercoolers may also be required with knockout dmms. Reference 8 describes the requirements of compressor layouts and provides many useful piping hints. [Pg.79]

The robust nature of acrylics make them useful in repair shops such as those for automobiles. For example, exterior roof panels can be repaired with acrylics [151]. Acrylics are also suitable for repair of some trim components on automobiles [152]. [Pg.842]

For a complete panel replacement, the refinisher starts with a panel preprimed in the appropriate stoving primer. For spot repairs or larger repairs without replacement of metal, there will be areas which have to be rubbed through to clean metal. Any indentations then have to be filled with a stopper or spray filler, probably based on unsaturated polyester resins and styrene, with cure initiated by mixing in an organic peroxide. After sanding, remaining bare metal areas are sprayed with a two-pack etch primer. [Pg.627]

The objectives of the inflammatory response can be viewed as a hierarchical ordered panel of events. The most successful consequence of an inflammatory response is the complete restoration of function and structure of the affected tissue, also denoted as resolution. If this is not possible, inflammation aims for healing by repair and replacement of lost tissue by scar tissue. [Pg.629]

Hoods may be required to contain considerable amounts of equipment while maintaining a specified range of air flow at the face. Therefore, the hoods must feature several internal airflow adjustments to accommodate the localized effects of equipment placed in the airpath. The hoods should be large enough to set all work back 20 centimeters or more from the face of the hood. Access through the rear panel makes the repair of contaminated equipment much safer. [Pg.236]

Poor housekeeping may also be a symptom of other fundamental problems, such as careless operation, frequent temporary repairs, and generally inadequate maintenance. These conditions can result in process leaks, releases, and spills, missing or open covers on equipment and electrical panels, unpainted rusting metal, and nonfunctional gauges and instruments. [Pg.37]

Stealth aircraft are often painted a medium gray or bluish gray that matches the sky so that it does not stand out. Coatings are composed of RAM that penetrates cracks reducing the number of minor repairs and use of special tape for repair. Every screw, panel, seam, and gap is covered with a special tape or the RAM coating adding to the bomber s stealthiness. [Pg.247]

Do not attempt to tamper with or make any adjustments or repairs to door control panel, safety interlock switches or any other part of the oven. Repairs should be done by qualified service personnel only. [Pg.46]

Install data capture devices such as PCs and balance key pads and printers outside of the isolator. Custom cabling may have to be made to accomplish this, but it minimizes the amount of equipment in the isolator and, if these devices malfunction or need repair, they are easily accessible and do not require decontamination. In general, due to the nature of analytical instrumentation, if equipment inside the isolator needs to be repaired, it must either be done inside of the isolator or the equipment must be scrapped and replaced. For large equipment, it might be worthwhile cutting the covers or service panels and reattaching them in such a manner that they can more easily be removed if service is needed prior to placing them in the isolator. [Pg.423]

Large parts can require considerable power requirements. Resistance welding has been applied to complex joints in automotive applications, including vehicle bumpers and panels, and joints in plastic pipe, and in medical devices. Resistance wire welding is not restricted to flat surfaces. If access to the heating element is possible, repair of badly bonded joints is possible, and joints can be disassembled in a reverse process to which they were made. [Pg.287]

If a breakdown in circulation occurs the mercury will leave the cell and the denuder and flow to the collecting chamber, denuding the iron bottom of the electrolyzer. Hydrogen then begins to be evolved. A float located in the collecting chamber causes a siren to sound. The number of the cell where the breakdown has occurred will flash on a signal panel. So the breakdown can be quickly repaired. [Pg.286]

The shielding blanket is composed of water-cooled steel modules, which are directly supported by the vacuum vessel and are effective in moderating the 14MeV neutrons, with a water-cooled copper mat bonded to the surface of the modules on the plasma side, and protected from interaction with the plasma by beryllium. Manufacturing considerations can be found elsewhere [48]. The first wall incorporates two start-up limiters located in two equatorial ports. With the aim to reduce cost and nuclear waste, the design includes a modular and separable first wall. This allows damaged or eroded blanket modules to be repaired inside the hot cell either by replacement of panels or by plasma spraying or other methods. [Pg.291]

Ceramic Plates (Ceramic Bathroom Tiles) Gives excellent protection from small arms fire, but because the plate shatters upon bullet impact, the area 1s left unprotected from subsequent attack. Homemade ceramic armor is inexpensive, with a fairly good weight-to-protection ratio. The drawback is the need for immediate repair of the impacted area. This requires that the armor panels be accessible for rapid replacement of damaged units. An adequate supply of spares should be on hand. [Pg.129]
