The next lines, the OS (Organism Species) and OC (Organism Classification), describe the species from which the protein has been derived. The OS line shows the scientific name of the organism and, if existing, the common English name. The OC lines give the taxonomic tree. SWISS-PROT, as well as the DDBJ/EMBL/GenBank nucleotide sequence databases, uses the NCBI taxonomy to standardize the taxonomies of the molecular sequence databases. [Pg.37]

In the World Health Organization classification proposed in 1981, SCLC was subdivided into three pathologic subtypes. [Pg.198]

T/NK (natural killer) cell lymphomas are much less common in Western countries and much less understood than the B cell lymphomas. Thus, the discussion of these entities will be much briefer. In addition, a significant number of the T/NK lymphomas, such as enteropathy-type T cell lymphoma, hepatosplenic T cell lymphoma, subcutaneous panniculitis-like T cell lymphoma, blastic NK cell lymphoma, T cell granular lymphocytic leukemia, and adult T cell leukemia/ lymphoma, will not be discussed in this review. The reader is advised to consult the recent World Health Organization Classification of Tumours (J2). [Pg.320]

Recent work has involved classification for environmental effects with respect to environmental fate and toxicity to aquatic organisms. Discussions are ongoing concerning toxicity to terrestrial organisms. Classification and labelling are cornerstones of chemical safety, and today tens of thousands of substances are classified as hazardous. [Pg.195]
