Oral tolerance

The dmgs known as antifolates act as effective blood schizonticides. Unfortunately, the parasites readily develop resistance to them. Most antifolates show poor oral tolerance, absorption, and host toxicity. They fall into two types depending on the mechanisms by which they operate.
