Objective of the work

The purpose of these experiments is first to learn how to measure polarization value of a fluorophore and then to see the difference in the information when we perform the experiments at different temperatures and when we work at a fixed temperature but increasing the concentration of sucrose in the medium. 

A good model for these studies is a fluorophore bound covalently to a protein this is why we choose the fluorescein-LCA complex.

The main objective of the work to be described here is to design and synthesize new organic dielectric materials, and to develop new techniques to deposit these materials as thin, thermally stable films with very low dielectric constants, for use as ILDs. New dielectric materials must not only possess proper electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties but should also minimize or eliminate the use of solvents in this era of concern for environmental pollution. 

The object of the work described was to discriminate between the two principal rival theories concerning the polymerisation of 1,3-dioxacycloalkanes by anhydrous perchloric acid, the Mainz theory and the Keele theory . By means of Jaaks s method for determining tertiary oxonium ions we found that in polymerisations under the driest conditions the concentration of these is negligibly small. The groundwater transport of radionuclides through waterbearing interbed layers in the Columbia River basalt formation will be controlled by reactions of the radionuclides with groundwater and interbed solids. These interactions must be understood to predict possible migration of radionuclides from a proposed radioactive waste repository in basalt. Precipitation and sorption on interbed solids are the principle reactions that retard radionuclide movement in the interbeds. The objective of the work described herein was to determine the sorption and desorption behavior of radionuclides important to safety assessment of a high-level radioactive waste repository in Columbia River basalt. The effects of groundwater composition, redox potential, radionuclide concentration, and temperature on these reactions were determined.

The object of the work described here was to measure the amount and distribution of pheromone vapor in the air under woodland canopies after aerial applications of slow release formulations of disparlure, and the rate at which these declined with time. A limited number of experiments have also been done Z-9-tetradecenol formate (TDF), a mating inhibitor for the corn earworm moth (Heliothis Zea). 

Unless the nature and number of the liaisons in the initial and final states are known with certainty, the reliability of the x-Parameter (based on Eq. 7 and relationships derived therefrom) suffers accordingly, even with the most accurate thermodynamic methods for measuring colligative physical properties of polymer-liquid systems. The primary objective of the work reported here was to determine whether flames from atomized fuel could be stabihzed similarly in a refractory tube and whether such flames would also produce low concentrations of NO. . The objective of the work is to present an experiment-founded adsorption model for precipitate flotation. Batch precipitate flotation of CufOH) with dodecylbenzene sulphonate (DBS) as collector, was carried out both with dissolved (DAF) and dispersed (DIS) air. The processes were considered as a succession of the dynamic equilibria taking place at the gasliquid and solidliquid interfaces. Both flotation processes were expressed quantitatively in terms of surface concentrations of Cu(OH)2 and DBS per unit surface area of the air buble, as well as the ratio of the numbers of air bubbles and solid particles (B /P ). Also the maximal concentrations of both DBS and Cu(OH)2, recoverable under the given conditions were calculated. All these values were determined by following the Cu(OH)2 and DBS recovery. The 2 flotation techniques were compared in regard to their efficiency and mechanism. Finally, the results obtained were discussed in terms of the other models for the colloid particle adsorption at the air-water interface. 

The objective of the work reported here was to investigate whether a-Sb204 could also protect FC2(Mo04)3 against reduction during catalytic work, thus avoiding or retarding deactivation.
