From a practical standpoint, the fiber or polymer must interact or process freely with the dynamics of web formation, and the resulting fiber network must be in register with the interlocking arrangement or media, in order for the fabric stmcture to transmit the maximum potential inherent in the properties of individual fibers. Since the belt is wrapped snugly around the material, it moves with the belt and is not subject to any form of internal movement except at feed and discharge. In addition, the belt can operate in many planes, with twists and turns to meet almost any layout condition within the fixed hmit of curvature placed on the loaded belt. It can convey and elevate with only a single drive multiple feed and discharge points are relatively easy to arrange. [Pg.1926]

The selection process of power cables is almost the same as that of a bus system discussed in Section 28.3. For simplicity we consider only the basic data for selection which would suffice the majority of applications. For accurate calculations a similar approach will be essential as for the bus systems (Chapter 28). We must not forget the client. The client review is an excellent tool that can be used to get the client s first impression of safety performance. This has been shown to be especially effective when conducted on a formal basis after a phase of the project, or the entire project, has been completed. The PM and the SM should arrange to meet the client represen-tative(s) in a face-to-face meeting to discuss safety performance and possibly other parameters of the recently completed job, or phase of job. The information obtained from the review is immediately analyzed. Once analyzed, it can be used to prevent recurrences of identified problems, to publicize good practices and innovative approaches to problem solving, and to perform work more safely and efficiently. [Pg.41]

In order that your subcontractors can achieve 100% on-time delivery, you need to provide the same type of information and make the same commitments as your customer will to enable you to meet 100% on-time delivery to them (see Part 2 Chapter 15). You therefore need to inform your subcontractors of your production schedule and release orders to your subcontractors based on that schedule. If operating under a ship-to-stock system, you will need a means of notifying your subcontractor when stocks drop to the minimum level.
