Pressure start

Sawada et al. [110] and the authors of this Chapter [104,111] have proposed another theory, the bundle-like nucleation theory, for the mechanism of ECC formation. Both groups of workers suggested that crystallization under high pressure starts from partially extended-chain nucleation rather than from the folded-chain nucleation as proposed by Hikosaka [103,104]. This theory was established on the basis of the following facts ... [Pg.306]

Cadmium phthalocyanine (PcCd) is prepared from phthalonitrile and cadmium filings58 and under high pressure starting from phthalonitrile, hydroquinone and cadmium(II) nitrate in methanol.80... [Pg.735]

Methods for determining the drop in pressure start with a physical model of the two-phase system, and the analysis is developed as an extension of that used for single-phase flow. In the separated flow model the phases are first considered to flow separately and their combined effect is then examined. [Pg.187]

Allene decomposes at pressures starting at 29 bar. Butadiene decomposes explosively at a higher pressure. [Pg.236]

Figure 14-1 gives the yield of a chemical reactor versus temperature and pressure. Starting at point A and using the one-at-a-time procedure, obtain using a quadratic... [Pg.410]

Now, the reactants are heated to about 50°C and the pressure in the reactor increased to about 100 lb/-in2. This temperature is maintained for nearly 15 hours after which time the pressure starts to drop as the last of the monomer gets consumed. [Pg.194]

It can be observed from Figure 4.15 that the predicted fiow rate of siiane increases exponentiaiiy as the anneai temperature is increased, as expected. This is due to the exponentiai increase in Si vapor pressure as a function of temperature, which was previousiy discussed. Simiiariy, caicuiations were performed to determine siiane fiow rates for different process pressures starting from 10 Torr to atmospheric pressure (760 Torr) as a function of anneaiing temperature. The partiai pressure of siiane at 1,600°C was recaicuiated at different pressures and then substituted into our empiricai modei to determine the partiai pressure at different... [Pg.132]

In the analogous reaction of 2,5-dihalopyridines the formation of three different products was observed, their ratio depending on the applied conditions. At 80 °C and 5 bar CO pressure, starting from 5-bromo-2-... [Pg.163]

Set pressure The value of increasing inlet static pressure at which an SRV displays one of the operational characteristics as defined under opening pressure, popping pressure, start-to-leak pressure. (The applicable operating characteristic for a specific design is specified by the manufacturer.)... [Pg.50]

Let us calculate the temperature and pressure (starting with 1 atmosphere pressure of mixture) obtained in such an explosion using the following data ... [Pg.39]

Figure 14 Normative spinel Iherzolite mineral abundances (wt.%) versus rock Mg for abyssal peridotite trends relative to calculated trends for polybaric, near-fractional melting. Three melt extraction models are shown over pressure ranges of 2.5-0.4 (short dashed line), 2.0-0.4 (long dashed line), and 1.5-0.4GPa (solid line). One percent melting occurs per 0.1 GPa of decompression, and 90% of the melt is extracted at each pressure. Starting mantle is fertile upper mantle (Table 1, 8). Within hours of starting treatment with a P-blocker, blood pressure starts to fall. The mechanism(s) remain uncertain, and the consistency of antihypertensive response in many different types of hypertension may reflect a contribution from a variety of mechanisms. P-blockers are most effective in patients who respond also to ACE inhibitors blockade of renin secretion is likely therefore to be the main cause of blood pressure reduction. An additional contributor may be the 2-3-fold increase in natriuretic peptide secretion caused by P-blockade. [Pg.474]

When the equilibrium pressure is reached, certain secondary phenomena can still contribute to increase the final volume of the cavity, and above all to significantly increase the weight of rock initially melted by the shock. This mainly involves the melting to a certain thickness of geological material close to the walls under the effect of the temperature of residual hot gases, and the total or partial melting of blocks of rock which become detached from the fractured walls and fall into the hot lava meniscus when the pressure starts to drop. [Pg.505]

Ti02(II) synthesized at higher pressure starts to transform to rutile at 450-600° Cover laboratory time scales (Aarik et al. 1996). With respect to Ti02(II), at standard pressure (1 bar), rutile is considered the stable phase at all temperatures (Jamieson and Olinger... [Pg.30]
