Another problem is (5-rays, since a K below threshold can produce -rays above Cerenkov threshold and can therefore be misidentified as a tt. The slidewire determines the linearity of the recorder. The linearity is limited by the slidewire resolution, its mechanical construction, and resistance loading effects.
