Mammary gland tumors

In an animal study of rats exposed by inhalation to ethylene oxide at 10, 33, or 100 ppm for approximately two years (245), and in a separate chronic rat study in which rats were exposed to 50 or 100 ppm of ethylene oxide (240), increased incidences of mononuclear cell leukemia, peritoneal mesothelioma, and various brain tumors have been reported. In an NTP (246) two-year inhalation study of mice at 50 and 100 ppm, alveolar/bronchiolar carcinomas and adenomas, papillary cystadenomas of the harderian gland, and malignant lymphomas, uterine adenocarcinomas, and mammary gland tumors were increased in one or both exposure groups. 

Of 44 male rats fed 1000 ppm for 12 months, 9 developed granulocytic leukemia and 8 developed zymbal gland tumors mammary gland tumors were found in rats of both sexes. ...

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC, 1999) concluded there is strong evidence that the mechanism by which atrazine increases the incidence of mammary gland tumors in SD rats is not relevant to humans and that atrazine is not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans.

Similar to some other triazine herbicides, propazine induces mammary gland tumors in female (but not male) rats, likely through pituitary neuroendocrine disruption.
