Litter boxes

A small cat litter box works well and can be purchased from any hardware or pet store for a few dollars. Get a size that will easily accommodate the size of the circuit board with a little wiggle room, but not too much bigger, as that would require more etchant - which would be a waste just to accommodate the oversized container.

This reaction is one that you may have observed if you have a cat Urea is a waste product of the breakdown of proteins and is removed from the body in urine. Bacteria in kitty litter produce urease. As the urease breaks down the urea in the cat urine, the ammonia released produces the distinctive odor of an untended litter box. 

Ammonia has a very strong scent and can bum the inside of your nose, thus damaging the mucus membrane. Be careful when using this material. Ever notice the sharp smell from a cat litter box that makes your eyes tear That comes from dilute concentrations of ammonia that are present in urine.

The use of farrowing crates is prohibited for organic producers, and so are routine teeth cutting and the automatic use of iron injections. However, a protective rail, farrowing box or nest is recommended, and teeth cutting for individual piglets or a litter when necessary to prevent injury to the sow is permitted, and so are iron injections for anaemia in the case of iron-deficient soils or chronic anaemia in free range systems. 

Your main aim in developing a scientific style should be to get your message across directly and unambiguously. While you can try to achieve this through a set of rules (see Box 50.1), you may find other requirements driving your writing in a contradictory direction. For instance, the need to be accurate and complete may result in text littered with technical terms, and the flow may be continually interrupted by references to the literature. Most deer repellents are also effective against rabbits. Some gardeners report that used cat box filler sprinkled on the lawn around ornamentals deters rabbits. Since effectiveness wears off after about a week, you ll need to replace the litter often, especially after rain. 

Mammals are often overlooked for their pest-control abilities. For example, in Canadian forests, shrews control larch sawflies and other pests. Lizards and toads are important natural enemies of pest insects, and snakes can help control problems with mice and voles. In many communities in Europe and North America, farmers encourage birds to control pests by placing nesting boxes around their fields. Even domesticated animals can assist in pest control. If you have a small orchard and keep chickens, let the chickens feed in the orchard. They will peck pests such as plum curculios out of dropped fruit and other ground litter. 

The best subject is a wino. In every city there are hundreds of winos sleeping out in nests in vacant lots, abandoned houses, under bridges, etc. It s very easy to find such nests. They are usually made up of flattened cardboard boxes and newspapers and littered vnth wine bottles. 

The litter problem remains with us. While it is certainly true that litter is a consequence of unacceptable human behavior, not inherent in the material, when littered, PS does not biodegrade, so it can remain in the environment for a very long period of Ume. The static cling tendencies of PS also contribute to its propensity to be littered, as can be attested to by anyone who has tried to pour a box of loosefill cushioning into their trash—especially if there was even a gentle breeze at the Ume ...

As regards the particle number concentration distribution by size, we detected statistically significant differences for all particle sizes between tasks (p = 0.000). Note that, the particle number concentration for 0.3 xm size presented higher number of particles in all the tasks with higher median value obtained in the closed box during the litter... 

The litter pragmatism of the design coupled with the apparent flexibility of the engineer s approach seems to achieve a thoroughly modern aesthetic. The box girders proved so stiff that the intended chain supports were simply left out. Even the Egyptian decoration has an elemental plasticity. 

Garbage can be defined as the discarded solid-waste products of household or industry which are collected and disposed of in some central facility such as a dump, landfill, or incinerator. Litter, on the other hand, may be defined as a synthetic object in a place where it should not be. For example, a fallen tree in the forest is not litter, but a discarded wooden box made from the same material in the same place is. Paper in a rubbish bin is not litter. The same piece of paper blowing along the side of a road definitely is. Surveys of litter show that by far the greatest proportion consists of containers or packages of various kinds used for food, beverages or tobacco.
