The vast majority of propane fuel systems used on light-duty vehicles to date have been of the mechanical-control type that meter propane in proportion to the amount of air used by the engine (air-valve and venturi-type mixers ). While these systems work well, their capabilities have been overshadowed by gasoline fuel injection systems and often lag behind gasoline systems in terms of acceleration, driveability, and cold-start performance. Chrysler Canada and one European equipment manufacturer offer liquid propane injection systems that are direct analogs to gasoline port fuel injection systems. These systems should have inherent performance advantages compared to the vaporized propane fuel systems. 

For the CO2 recovery from fossil based power stations an additional primary energy input is required, producing supplementary CO2 emissions. The overall energy efficiency of the methanol vectors and the CO2 balance of the fossil based recovery process will be compared to the CO2 recovery from the atmosphere and to the conventional crude oil-gasoline system. 

Because a gasoline would be unsuitable for use if it corroded the metallic parts of the gasoline system or the engine, it must be substantially free from corrosive compounds both before and after combustion.

Observe the time for the two phases to separate. The height of the sample divided by this time is called the settling velocity. Typically, for well-mixed water-gasoline systems, this velocity is one-half of the ft/min. 

One measure of propellant performance is specific impulse,, which is defined as pounds of thrust delivered by a flow of one pound per second of gas through the rocket nozzle. While the specific impulse of operating rockets has increased about 25 since the Second World War, theory indicates a further possible increase of approximately 50 [31. Liquid-propellant rockets in use today, LOX-gasoline systems, are achieving a specific impulse of 264 Ib-sec/lb. Theoretical Jgp possible with liquid-fluorine—liquid-hydrogen systems is 373 Ib-sec/lb. Small increases in are important in terms of range and payload. As an example, it can be calculated that a increase in of a typical ballistic missile can result in a 9 increase in payload or a 6 increase in range [4].
