ICH S7A lists examples of GI parameters that can be measured for example, gastric secretion, GI injury potential, bile secretion, transit time in vivo, ileal contraction in vitro, gastric pH, and pooling. The list of parameters is by no means comprehensive and s leans toward assessing function rather than histopathology this inclination reflects the distribution of clinical GI ADRs, but functional assessment should not predominate at the expense of histopathology. 

In 1998, the first PET/CT scanner, combining functional information with morphological information, was introduced by Townsend and co-workers [3], Combined PET/CT devices offer an efficient tool for whole-body staging and restaging functional assessment within one imaging modality. PET/CT scanners allow a merging of complementary information from CT and PET, leading to a more accurate anatomic localization. Furthermore, a more precise assessment of tumor volume is possible in comparison to PET. 

The combination of whole-body anatomical (CT) and functional (PET) imaging offers an efficient tool for whole-body staging, restaging and therapy control and functional assessment in one device. PET/CT enables the assessment of the exact tumor volume. Recently, studies evaluating the impact of [ F]-FDG-PET/CT on diagnosing and treating colorectal cancer have been published (Fig. 1) [28-31].

The evaluation of folic acid status must often also include evaluation of vilamin B1 because of its effect on folate metabolism. A vilamin Bu-dependenl reaction is necessary for an cit/vmc involved in the catabolism of branchcd-chain amino acids (mclhylmalonyl CoA to succinyl CoA). Immunological Effects. Histopathologic evaluations in animals suggest that chlorobenzene may be immunotoxic however, direct tests of immune function have not been performed.
