Demand sensing process

In one sense, process chemists concerned with cost reduction and synthesis choice have some flexibility. The overall cost of a manufacturing synthesis can accommodate long plant occupancies if starting materials are inexpensive. Costly starting materials, however, demand short residence times. The overall cost depends on both expenses, so one may be high if the other is low. 

To become market driven, companies need to identify the right market signals, build sensing capabilities, define demand-shaping processes, and effectively translate the demand signal to create a more effective response. This approach makes the 30 years of technology... 

Traditional view of supply chain excellence. For demand-driven initiatives to be successful, they must extend from the customers customer to the supplier s supplier. The concepts of demand latency, demand sensing, demand shaping, demand translation, and demand orchestration are not widely understood. As a result, they require education and a business champion. Organizations not familiar with the concepts will not understand why the demand management processes need to change. 

Build demand sensing and shaping capabilities into the process. 

The specific fields of recent and future applications of rapid flow-through chip PCR demand the development of PCR-based chip devices with additional integrated functions for sample pretreatment, on-line sensing, process control and real-time measurement, referencing, and reproducibility tests. Therefore, further efforts for integration of transducers as well as additional fluid manipulation functions are required. 

The chemical and physical properties of the polymers obtained by these alternate methods are identical, except insofar as they are affected by differences in molecular weight. In order to avoid the confusion which would result if classification of the products were to be based on the method of synthesis actually employed in each case, it has been proposed that the substance be referred to as a condensation polymer in such instances, irrespective of whether a condensation or an addition polymerization process was used in its preparation. The cyclic compound is after all a condensation product of one or more bifunctional compounds, and in this sense the linear polymer obtained from the cyclic intermediate can be regarded as the polymeric derivative of the bifunctional monomer(s). Furthermore, each of the polymers listed in Table III may be degraded to bifunctional monomers differing in composition from the structural unit, although such degradation of polyethylene oxide and the polythioether may be difficult. Apart from the demands of any particular definition, it is clearly desirable to include all of these substances among the condensation... 

In a sense, therefore, there have been two conflicting views with respect to the suitability of formalin as a fixative, in the face of demands that biopsy tissues may be examined not only by traditional morphologic methods, but also by IHC, in situ hybridization (ISFI) and, following extraction procedures, by other molecular methods. Both views recognize that these newer methods do not perform well, or at all, on routinely processed FFPE tissues. One view advocates the development of new fixatives that are molecular friendly, the other view holds that AR-based methods may be employed to achieve accurate valid results of IHC, ISH, and other molecular methods using FFPE tissues. 

To get a better idea of the complexity of a real application scenario in these industries it makes sense to, once, exemplarily depict the planning processes in a typical production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API production). Most pharmaceutical companies are looking at planning scenarios in which several hundred individual resources or facilities have to be accounted for, with demands and orders for some thousand final products. The planning horizon is often set to 2-5 years. Next to single equipment, there are facility pools, with one pool consisting of several individual units. 

The theories of the Ionian philosophers are not of the nature of scientific theories in the modern sense, for they were not intended as hypotheses to be tested by observation or experiment. They belong to the domain of speculation rather metaphysical than physical, but, let it be noted, very reasonable speculations such as the human mind must content itself with until more specific knowledge admits of scientific deduction. They were attempts to harmonize the evidence of the senses with the demands of human reason, without assuming the arbitrary acts of gods or devils as the causes of phenomena. In other words, they were attempts to account for the visible universe by process of natural law, rather than by supernatural agencies.
