The process control engineer is responsible for the safe operation of a plant while reliably and efficiently producing the desired product quality. The control engineer does this by transferring the variabihty that otherwise goes into important controlled variables to manipulated variables and less important controlled variables. In order to meet these objectives, process control engineers use a complete knowledge of the process to attain the most desirable performance. 

Control and Instrumentation. (See Chap. 9.) When pilot plant design and operation are part of process development, it is particularly important to stress control problems. The requirements of process control are (1) material balance, (2) energy balance, (3) conditions of quality, and (4) conditions of economy. In general, a control engineer may study a flow diagram to see whether the first two conditions are met without too specific knowledge of the process, but to meet the second two conditions requires specialized process 0]>erating information. 

It is necessary that management, and aU those shop floor engineers working in chemical industries (who are looking after the process and maintenance) should operate their plants in a safe, pollution free manner along with an all-around efficiency in order to keep the pollution and the production costs in control while meeting the required product quality and delivery schedules for their products. Analysis Step 1 Host is a creating employer because it caused employees of S to be exposed to the air contaminant above the PEL. In 2000 a survey (Reference 2) identified, for self-regulating processes, 81 published methods for tuning PI controllers and 117 for PID controllers. For integrating processes, it also found 22 methods for PI control and 15 for PID control. Every one of these methods has at least one flaw.

Operation and Maintenance. Engineering and constmction firms can be contracted to take charge of treatment-plant operation and maintenance and manage other aspects necessary to meet performance goals, such as hiring and cost controls (7). Costs to the municipalities are reported to be competitive with the more traditional approach of management by municipal employees (8). 

First part qualification. First part qualification is a process performed the first time a new bonded assembly is manufactured or the first time a new tool is used to manufacture a bonded assembly. First part qualification provides assurance that all of the aspects that control bond assembly quality, such as the design dimensions, detail part manufacturing techniques, tool dimensions, layup procedures and autoclave cure cycle parameters are correct and will produce a bond assembly that meets the engineering requirements.
