CD control performance

The paper machine example first introduced in Section 10.1.1 reflects open-loop in CD control data. Application of model-based CD control performance calculations is simplified for this case as U = 0 while the results establish an upper limit of improvement expectations from a potential CD control implementation. Following the procedure summarized in the block diagram of Figure 10.24 simulation calculations provide = 0.0644... [Pg.272]

A unique advantage of the model-based CD control performance calculations is the two-dimensional information detail for improvement potential. Figure 10.25 shows the process variability reduction for each measuremen-... [Pg.272]

Accordingly, CD control performance evaluation requires a special method of model-based approach to compute improvement potential based on a realistically achievable target for that particular process. [Pg.275]

Analysis of full sheet data is useful for process performance evaluations and product value calculations. For feedback control or any other on-line application, it is necessary to continuously convert scanner data into a useful form. Consider the data vector Y ,k) for scan number k. It is separated into its MD and CD components as Y( , A ) = yM )( )+Yc )( , k) where Ymd ) s the mean of Y ,k) as a scalar and YcD -,k) is the instantaneous CD profile vector. MD and CD controllers correspondingly use these calculated measurements as feedback data for discrete time k. Univariate MD controllers are traditional in nature with only measurement delay as a potential design concern. On the other hand, CD controllers are multivariate in form and must address the challenges of controller design for large dimensional correlated systems. [Pg.256]

A reasonable observation after these results may be that an effective CD controller should be able to reduce CD variability by at least a factor of 2. Another way of stating the same observation from a performance monitoring point of view would be that as long as a CD controller is functioning properly both plots in Figure 10.12 should indicate insignificant contributions from Gram polynomials up to order 4 or 5, which would also mean essentially similar power spectra for ycd and ycd r) ... [Pg.261]

The network in a box or backbone in a box offered by concentrators and hubs shrinks the length of the network backbone but does not change the architectural characteristics of a particular network backbone. For instance, in an ethernet concentrator, multiple workstations may access the built in ethernet backbone via a variety of media, but the basic rules of ethernet, such as CSMA/CD access methodology still control performance on this ethernet in a box. Only one workstation at a time can broadcast its message onto the shared backbone. [Pg.2132]

While all of these Ru NPs displayed suitable performances in catalysis, different activities and selectivities were observed. This highlighted that supramolecular interactions on the metallic surface in the presence of a CD control the catalytic reactivity of the nanocatalysts. Interestingly the CD acts as a phase-transfer promotor, which increases the activity and affects the selectivity. As evidenced via NMR studies, the influence of CD on the selectivity results from the formation of an inclusion complex between the CD and the diphosphine hgand at the Ru NP surface as reported in homogeneous catalysis. This original work takes advantage of the supramolecular properties of a CD to modulate the surface reactivity of diphosphine-stabilized Ru NPs, which is expected to offer novel opportunities to the field of nanocatalysis. [Pg.66]

Hg Cd Te is an example of a ternary detector, in which the value of x controls the cutoff wavelength. Photoconductive detectors are generally simpler to couple to low noise amplifiers photodiodes generally have lower power consumption because these have no external bias, and better high frequency performance (15,16). [Pg.193]

Studies performed on CdS [282, 283] have revealed the importance of the microstructure, i.e., crystal structure, crystallite size, and geometrical surface area, in both the control of band structure and the concentration and mobility of charges, in relation to the photocatalytic performance of the photocatalyst. It has been shown also that the solubility product of CdS colloids prepared from acetate buffer aqueous solutions of suitable precursors increases from 7.2x 10 for large particles to about 10 for small (< 2.5 nm) particle colloids, this increase invoking a positive shift on the cathodic corrosion potential [284]. [Pg.277]

Metronidazole has been the mostly investigated agent. In 1978, Blichfeldt et al. [34] performed the first controlled study of metronidazole in CD. They did not find a difference between metronidazole and placebo-treated patients but a positive trend in favor of metronidazole was observed when the colon was involved. In the National Cooperative Swedish study, metronidazole was compared to sulfasalazine no significant difference was found between the two groups however, in the crossover section of the study, metronidazole was effective in patients not responding to sulfasalazine [35],... [Pg.98]

Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. In the experiments, about 2 mg of sample was pyrolyzed at 900°C in flowing helium using a Chemical Data System (CDS) Platinum Coil Pyrolysis Probe controlled by a CDS Model 122 Pyroprobe in normal mode. Products were separated on a 12 meter fused capillary column with a cross-linked poly (dimethylsilicone) stationary phase. The GC column was temperature programmed from -50 to 300°C. Individual compounds were identified with a Hewlett Packard (HP) Model 5995C low resolution quadruple GC/MS System. Data acquisition and reduction were performed on the HP 100 E-series computer running revision E RTE-6/VM software. [Pg.547]
