Static models have different uses in different parts of the development life cycle. If we decided to start from scratch in providing software support for a hotel s booking system, our analyst s first deliverable would be a description of how the hotel business works, and a type model would be an essential part of it, formalizing the vocabulary. Later in the life cycle, the objects in the software can be described in the same notation.

Federal, state, and local governments are demanding more and more information from manufacturers not only the size, composition, and properties of waste streams that are generated, but also what chemicals are added to the process to manufacture the final product, and descriptive information on how these chemicals are used within the process. The third major driver for pollution prevention, then, becomes control of the business. A coordinated team of users, engineers, safety inspectors, and quality representatives will map the operations required to meet the business need that is, the scientific research and development operations, as well as the production process or the goods in process. In one American life sciences company, for example, 1000 ideas were generated. These were turned into 100 business plans, of which 56 received seed funding. In a business plan competition, participants develop a fuUy-fledged business plan, usually in three phases from the initial description of the business idea to concrete details such as the appointment of the management team and a financial plan (Fig. 9.4). 

Abstract. Service-oriented architectures define an architectural style for the construction of a heterogeneous application landscape. By abstracting services, business processes are decoupled from the underlying applications. This section describes how the results of the IMPROVE subproject 13, related to the model-driven development process for wrapper construction, are transferred and extended to the area of business process applications. We present an approach which yields a prototype to formally specify service descriptions and service compositions. This prototype makes it possible to evaluate and explore service-oriented architecture concepts. 

Another treatment that did not survive involved radiotherapy, which involves the subject of viral/microbial origins and treatments. Called Rife therapy, it has been extensively commented upon. In reiteration, it was first developed by a scientist/inventor named Royal Rife. Dating back to the 1930s, Rife constructed what was called an electromagnetic frequency generator. Said to be very effective against cancer, nevertheless he and his associates wctc put out of business by the medical establishment — and his efforts and results have never bear duplicated.
