Phenolics are used in bonding wood and plywood. They are also good adhesives for automobile brake linings. A phenolic plus poly(vinyl butyral) is used to bond copper to paper or glass fiber for printed circuits. [Pg.359]

The fibers should also have been excellent filters for hydraulic lines where water can become a problem. The hydraulic brake of automobiles, particularly the master cylinders and wheel cylinders, are damaged by water collecting in the hygroscopic brake fluids.
