OEM original equipment

There are different items that have warranties such as equipment, products, and materials. Fulfillment of warranties tends to be a two-way situation. As an example when one buys equipment, you are not just buying equipment, you are entering into a relationship. This may sound tripe, but it is demonstrably true in the case of capital equipment. The warranty relationship can be defined in writing by the warranty document. It goes into detail as to what the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) seller promises to do in event of equipment failure due to specific causes. It also details the responsibilities of the equipment owner. Sometimes the expectations of the processor and OEM are seriously mismatched. 

A well-known example is BASF s efforts to identify new sources of value for its automotive OEM (original equipment manufacturer) customers, which ultimately led it to install and run their paint shops as an integral part of their customers assembly lines—a far cry from just supplying paint. 

Since the development of performance specifications from the 1930s and beyond, the API, Militaiy, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and European ACEA requirements have reflected the introduction of the new engine technologies as well as the performance of lubricants in the field. The implementation of the new performance requirements will be driven by field experience for realistic correlation with laboratory test tools.

The second major classification of common polyurethane adhesives is the two-component system. Two-component polyurethane adhesives are widely used where fast cure speeds are critical, as on OEM (original equipment manufacturers) assembly lines that require quick fixture of parts, especially at ambient or low bake temperatures. Two-component urethanes are required in laminating applications where no substrate moisture is available or where moisture cannot penetrate through to the adhesive bond. Two-component urethanes are also useful where CO2 (generated by a one-component moisture cure) or a volatile blocking agent would interfere with the adhesive properties.

The automotive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) sector is one of the easiest paint subsectors to define, and is arguably the one with the highest public profile it includes all paints applied to the vehicle body shell in the paint shop of the manufacturer s production line. It does not include parts painted offline (e.g. plastic components, underbody or trim parts) or refinish items. The sector is dominated by car and light vans both in terms of unit volume production and paint tonnage used other commercial vehicles only account for about 15% of European automotive coating use the percentage is similar in the USA. 

Lithium-thionyl chloride (Li/SOCl2) cells have seen a number of uses, including remote monitoring (such as residential water meters), various OEM (original equipment manufacturer) electronic devices, military, aerospace, and down-hole oil well monitoring applications. Medical device uses have included implantable heart mmiitors, drug infusion pumps, and some of the earliest implantable cardiac pacemakers [9, 10]. 

We have already discussed the first two risk factors. Detection refers to how long it takes to realize that a risk event that needs attention has happened. For example, a fire at a tier-1 supplier will be known to the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) in a relatively short period of time. However, a fire at a tier-3 supplier that will impact tier-1 and eventually the production at OEM may take a longer detection time.
