A subcommittee formed by the Machine Tool Safety Standards Committee (Bll) of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) adopted the acronym TR3 to designate its work. TR stands for technical report. The Committee, B11.TR3, has issued a document titled Risk assessment and reduction —A guideline to estimate, evaluate and reduce risks associated with machine tools. The Secretariat for this work is The Association for Manufacturing Technology. TR3 became a registered document at ANSI in November 2000.

Other safety professionals have recognized that literature on lean may not include the outcome of accidents as waste to be eliminated. Also, they have encountered situations where safety concepts and lean applications were in conflict, with the results being far from satisfactory. In that respect consider the comments made in a publication by the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) of ANSI B11.TR7 in 2007. Its title is ANSI Technical Report for Machines—Design for Safety and Lean Manufacturing.

Texaco Synthesis Gas Generation Process. For many years, The Texaco Synthesis Gas Generation Process (]L, 2, 3) has been available for licensing throughout the world as an efficient technology for converting high-sulfur residual petroleum fuels and tars into synthesis gas. More than seventy-five plants have been built in twenty-two countries since the first units came on stream in 1955. Most of these facilities have been associated with manufacture of ammonia, methanol, and oxo-chemicals. 

This Fifteenth Edition contains over 4,200 new or updated entries. Special effort was directed to add definitions and terms of art for biochemistry. Over 700 entries reflecting the great interest in biochemistry are now included. Over 90 terms relating to nano technology were added. Almost 3,000 new chemicals were added, including trade named products. Links to worldwide web page addresses for manufacturers and associations in the appropriate entries and in Appendix III were verified or added. Trademarked entries and their associated manufacturers were updated to reflect the constant flux in the modem chemical industry. 

It is almost impossible to maintain a complete and up-to-date listing of the publications dealing with limited special fields within the edible oil industry. Many of these are sponsored by technical or trading associations. For example, there is the Cotton Gin and Oil Mill Press of the National Cottonseed Products Association, the Peanut Journal and Nut World of the National Peanut Council, the Soybean Digest of the American Soybean Association, the Bulletin of the Institute of Margarine Manufacturers, the Journal of Milk and Food Technology, the American Butter and Cheese Review and the National Provisioner. In Canada there is Butterfal in Italy there is Olive Culture and in France there is the Bulletin of the International Office of the Cocoa and Chocolate Industry,...
