Inspection, assembly

For flanges of nonstandard dimensions or for sizes beyond the scope of the approved standards, design shall be in accordance with the requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Sec. T11, except that requirements for fabrication, assembly, inspection testing, and the pressure and temperature hmits for materials of the Piping Code are to prevail. Countermoment flanges of flat face or otherwise providing a reaction outside the bolt circle are permitted if... [Pg.985]

In rotational sweeping, objects are generated through the rotation of surfaces, as well as closed or open, but restricted, contour fines around a predefined axis. The axis may not cut the surface or contour. A prismatic body originates from the expansion of a closed contour fine. Shells or full bodies can be generated with sweep operations. With sweep-generated shells, movement analysis and assembly inspection can occur. The analysis takes place by the bodies movement along a curve in space. [Pg.2831]

Assembly lines (e.g., medical sector, where products are manufactured in a clean-room environment, assembled, inspected, sorted, and packaged in the same manufacturing cell to avoid any contamination and to guarantee 100 % defect-free production)... [Pg.705]

Most industrial applications with vision sensors can be divided into the following four types dimensional inspection, surface quality inspection, assembly inspection, and operation inspection. In the assembly line, vision sensors are widely used in robots as the machine vision to help them recognize the positions/orientations of objects to be handled or assembled, to determine the presence or absence of parts, and to detect parts which do not meet required specifications. Zhu et al. (2013) and Chadda et al. (2011) built vision systems using low-cost cameras such as Wii Remotes and Firefly MV cameras to track the object or human motion in an assembly line. Object motion data was used to generate assembly simulation for training, and human motion data was used to do ergonomic analysis to help design a better assembly cell. [Pg.1099]

Removal of the nodules revealed extensive pitting corrosion that had breached the 0.375 mm aluminium cladding. Pitting corrosion that had penetrated the aluminium cladding to the fuel meat was found on approximately 7% of the total number of assemblies inspected by SRS. [Pg.10]

PCB transformers may not receive servicing which requires the removal of the core/coil assembly. Inspections must be made for leaks and records kept. When the unit is to be replaced, the fluid must be burned in an approved incinerator and the transformer carcas either incinerated or flushed. [Pg.143]

The second issue is that of mixing Pb-free and Sn-Pb solder. This situation would be less likely to occur with newly fabricated product, when repair and rework procedures are performed immediately after assembly inspection. The same solder would be used for both processes. Rather, the concern arises particularly with regard to the rework of legacy products that are returned from service. Older, field-return electronics were most likely assembled with a Sn-Pb solder. In those cases where Pb-free rework procedures are in full use, there is the likelihood of intermixing Sn-Pb and Pb-free solders in the interconnections. In terms of the rework process itself, the poorer solderability of Pb-free solders will be improved by Sn-Pb residues remaining on the circuit board pads. (The I/O finish of the replacement component wUl likely be Pb-free, unless the component was in storage as a life-of-program-buy [LoPB] for that system. Then, the Sn-Pb finish on the I/O will also improve Pb-free solderability.)... [Pg.961]

Inspect LGA pads on the PWB and on the LGA prior to assembly. Inspect both sides of the interposer to ensure that contacts are present and in good condition. [Pg.1166]

If you purchase a mill, and it s not assembled, inspect the components against the parts list and drawings supplied by the manufacturer before you do anything else. Then lay out the components in the approximate order of assembly, checking each for twist, bend or warp. Correct any defects you find, and if a component is beyond repair, have it replaced. [Pg.34]

Since December 2006, the new SVYP-440 stand used for VVER-440 fuel assembly inspection has been operational. Incorporating several modules, it has the ability to open the fuel assembly and take it apart so that all of the fuel elements can be examined. If a defect is found, the fuel element with the defect is enclosed in the special hermetic casing. [Pg.31]
