Sweep Operation

In another version of the technique, a thin film of organic ligand is collected on the working electrode, prior to sample introduction. Trace elements (in the sample) interact with the adsorbed ligand to form metal complexes. The electrode is then subjected to a cathodic sweep operation and reduction of the surface-active metal species (to form a metal amalgam) yields a current flow which is a sensitive measure of the initial trace element content. 

In air-drying applications, it is important to operate the modules in a counterflow mode, usually with a small sweep flow from the residue gas. Some calculations illustrating the importance of counterflow and counterflow/sweep operation are shown in Figure 8.5. 

The high cost of the first 220-MHz spectrometers and their restriction, at least initially, to observation of protons only (in 5-mm sample tubes) and to field-sweep operation, has encouraged a number of research groups51 outside the spectrometer industry to construct...

Solid models with a number of free-form surfaces are realized using surface-oriented modeling techniques that correspond to the surface model presented. With one of these techniques, sweeping, one attains a 3D body through an intermediate step when creating a 2D contour. The 2D contour is expanded to three dimensions along a set curve. The desired contours are generated with known 2D CAD system functions and are called up as bases for sweep operations. 

In rotational sweeping, objects are generated through the rotation of surfaces, as well as closed or open, but restricted, contour fines around a predefined axis. The axis may not cut the surface or contour. A prismatic body originates from the expansion of a closed contour fine. Shells or full bodies can be generated with sweep operations. With sweep-generated shells, movement analysis and assembly inspection can occur. The analysis takes place by the bodies movement along a curve in space. 

Single sweep Operating mode in which the sweep generator must be reset for each sweep. Especially useful for obtaining single examples of a signal spectrum.
