Gas generator assemblies

Self-inflating appliances use compressed gases (usually nitrogen, carbon dioxide, or some other nontoxic, nonflammable gas or gas gener-ant) to fill life jackets, life rafts, and marine and aircraft evacuation slides. Gas generator assemblies for larger equipment may also be transported independently as spare parts. [Pg.134]

Assemble an apparatus as showm in Fig. 137. Fill the gas meter with pure carbon monoxide and charge a Kipp gas generator for... [Pg.249]

The above assembly consists of a selfsealing Kipp-Hein gas generator for furnishing comparatively air-free C02, a Trautz-Nierderl gasometer to measure the amt of gas used either in the determination or in the blank test a gas burner for heating the... [Pg.462]

Saturated brine is fed into the anode compartment but cannot pass through the membrane into the water-filled cathode assembly. Hydrogen is liberated at the cathode from the electrolysis of water. More water is often added to the cathode compartment to maintain a constant concentration. Some of the catholyte stream, which constitutes about 21% sodium hydroxide, is removed and concentrated. Chlorine gas generated at the anode is collected. In terms of environmental pollution, capital investment, and operating costs, the membrane process is preferred over the other processes. [Pg.724]
