Valves inspections

Improve documentation of relief valve inspection and pop tests. Annual testing of relief valves is recommended until a valve has a history of good pop tests. Then the frequency can be slowly extended. (Program established by March 2002)... [Pg.376]

Last relief valve inspection and testing for Kettles and Catalyst Storage tanks. (Maintenance records)... [Pg.382]

As with other packaging components, the incoming tests and specifications of metered valves, inspection attributes, and AQLs (acceptable quality levels) will need to be coordinated with the supplier. The valve should be considered as a critical package component and have incoming performance tests, such as spray weights and weight loss [13,14], The performance test could be conducted on a sample of the valve lots from either scale-up or pilot trials before the validation lots are prepared. This information may also be available for each lot from the supplier. It is recommended that each test shown in Table 3 be conducted on at least three valve lots as part of the validation program. [Pg.373]

The best way of effectively determining a maintenance schedule is by keeping a detailed log on the history of each valve. Inspection frequency should be based on criteria which is explained hereafter. We will demonstrate how to build a schedule of inspection activities based on historical data for each individually installed valve This procedure starts with installation An SRV is tagged and is given a passport containing all of its data, process data and revision dates with comments and the spare parts used and when. Actually, the basis of this passport already exists when it leaves the manufacturer (on the tag plate) and the basic records of the valve are also kept with the manufacturer for later reference. [Pg.232]

Loosen, preferably in a cross pattern, the body/bonnet nuts and remove the bonnet. Exercise care when lifting the bonnet as the spring and spindle will then be free to fall aside. Make sure to mark the body and bonnet for reference when reassembling the valve. It is best to reassemble the valve exactly the same way as it came from the manufacturer, as perfect alignment of the internals is paramount for good operation of the valve. Inspect the bonnet (Figure 10.23). [Pg.254]

Note The experiment can be divided into two parts The first step is to collect the methane, open the methane container valve, close the test container valve, store methane samples and analyze methane components with a spectrum analyzer. The second step is to close and collect the methane container valve, open the container valve inspection, inspect methane under the action of the electromagnetic state of change. [Pg.485]

NFPA 25, Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water Based Fire Protection Systems, provides requirements and procedures for ensuring that the systems discussed in the section will perform as intended. The standard provides requirements for proper inspection, test, and maintenance procedures for sprinkler, standpipe, and underground supply systems, as well as fire pumps, water storage tanks, spray systems, and foam-water sprinkler systems. Other chapters address record retention provisions, valve inspection procedures, and system impairment procedures. [Pg.362]

A cylinder valve inspection must be performed on each cylinder to ascertain that the valve is suitable for use and the intended gas service. The valve should be free of oil or other hydrocarbon substances that will present a filling hazard, particularly with oxidizing gases. The valve should operate properly and smoothly. The outlet should be in good condition with undamaged threads and seat. [Pg.185]

Rail and road tankers are used to carry liquefied gases and other hazardous liquids from one point to another point. Over the years, the failure of such tankers has resulted in serious consequences. The main locations of failures are shells, pumps, valves, inspection covers, coimections to a container, and branches, including instrument connections. [Pg.79]

Valve Inspection - RTM 4987 defined the valves that needed to be inspected. 5 DPSOLs were revised in the process of performing these inspections. [Pg.419]

WISR-8 requires a valve inspection program which includes a list of valves prioritized for inspection on the basis of the importance of their function to safe operation of reactor systems. This is addressed in Section 14.3.4 below. [Pg.507]

WISR-8, Supplemental Valve Inspection and Evaluation Program... [Pg.613]

WISR-8 has been implemented at SRS. A list of key valves has been prepared based on their importance to safety. These valves were disassembled, and their internal parts were checked and evaluated. The WISR 8 inspection requirements are, documented in RTM-4987 (Reference 24). The valves inspected are listed in Section III of the WISR items and in the Section IV valve tables of the restart I T plan. [Pg.613]
