Receiving inspections valves

Basic receiving inspections check for adherence to specifications only. They are not intended to look for quality levels beyond which the materials are normally built. For example, no oxidizable grease in a chlorine or oxygen service valve would add an additional requirement over and above basic, making it a supplementary receiving inspection. [Pg.8]

The plant management must get the safety valves, mpture discs, their installation, pressure release setting of these devices, vent lines, etc., inspected and approved by statutory inspecting authorities in their respective countries. There shall be full compliance with the instmctions received from such authorities. No existing statutory requirement on safety shall be violated. [Pg.116]

Air receiver (this must be a vessel tested at 1.5 times the working pressure and must have safety valve, mpture disc, automatic moisture drain valve. It shall be inspected and permitted for use by the local statutory authorities). [Pg.190]

Safety valves on the air receiver shall be set as instructed by the statutory inspection authority so as to ensure safely of all personnel. Minimise frequent unnecessary blow oflF from safely valves (which can waste compressed air and hence power also). Regularly monitor condition of compressed air pipes and immediately attend leaks. [Pg.217]

The easiest inspection program to implement requires laboratory supervisors to inspect their own work space and equipment on a periodic basis. These individuals are the "first line of defense" for a program of safety excellence. They need to note items such as open containers, faulty faucets or valves, frayed wiring, broken apparatus, obstructions on floors or aisles, and unsafe clutter. They also need to follow through to make sure that any problems receive prompt resolution. [Pg.177]

All systems should receive a visual inspection each quarter. Test or inspect each antomatic system on an annual basis. Include all systems in the preventive maintenance plan. Test all snpervisory signal devices except valve tamper switches on a quarterly basis. Test valve tamper switches and water flow devices semiannually. Test duct detectors, electromechanical releasing devices, heat detectors, manual fire alarm boxes, and smoke detectors on a semiannual basis. Test occupant alarm notification devices to inclnde andible and visible devices at least annually. Maintain appropriate documentation on all tire-related system testing. [Pg.220]
