The nature of part-time employment may lead to an older than normal driver population that may possess health issues that are yet to be determined. Part-time employment may lead to younger drivers looking for part-time employment and various methods of gaining money. Various part-time jobs may lead to fatigue events that become an issue with driver condition. It is not easy to decide to report a trusted driver, relative, or friend, but concern for the driver s safety and the safety of those being transported is usually the deciding factor for pupil transportation professionals.

As the science of indoor air quality has matured, indoor air professionals have realized that many indoor air contaminants and the associated health effects are linked to specific types of buildings and their characteristics. For example, radon is primarily an indoor air concern in homes because of the ease with which it can be transported inside residential construction from the soil beneath. On the other hand. Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) primarily afflicts office building occupants who experience acute health and comfort effects that appear to be linked to time spent in a specific building.

As a result, the limited ability of unit processes to create a viable niche for themselves within chemical engineering must ultimately be understood in terms which also involve unit operations. Although the historical resilience of unit processes turned out to be less than that of unit operations, it was no different in its essential elements. Studying the uneasy and ultimately unsuccessful career of unit processes can therefore be easily justified as a way to shed light on the far more successful career of unit operations. In particular, the career of unit processes raises a hypothesis about the evolution of unit operations. The staying power of unit operations was not so much because of the structural coherence of its conceptual elements as its essential links with social and, more specifically, professional groups. As a theoretical entity, unit operations appears far less stable and, in fact, appears quickly threatened by notions which rest on fewer and more fundamental scientific concepts. Ultimately, this threat came to be realized with the advent of transport phenomena, but this is another story. In effect, unit processes can be interpreted as both the attempt to extend the reach of unit operations and a symptom of their conceptual fragility. 

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2008), about 54 percent of those employed in the chemical industry work in production and in installation, maintenance, and repair occupations. Another 12 percent work in professional and related occupations. Approximately 9 percent work in management, business, and financial occupations and in office and administrative support occupations, and another 9 percent work in transporting and material-moving occupations. 

Industrial processes must be run at optimal conditions to be economic. This means more than simply manipulating the reaction conditions to maximize the extent of the reaction. Business people, and the professionals they hire to advise them, must consider other factors as well. These factors include the rate of the reaction, safety, the location of the plant, the cost to huild and operate the plant, the cost of acquiring reactant materials, the cost of transporting products, and the cost of hiring, educating, and maintaining plant workers. 

A large quantity of any hazardous solid wastes can only be properly transported or disposed of by licenced or certified environmental professionals. Small quantities of hazardous wastes, however, can be handled by a plant manager.
