Trailer mounted tanks

Figure 4-8 shows an LNG refueling facility designed for refueling LNG transit buses. This facility includes a dispenser, kiosk, canopy, methane detection system, fire suppression system, and trailer-mounted LNG storage tank. In this system, LNG is pumped from the storage tank to the dispenser and then on to the bus. A trailer-mounted tank was chosen for this application since a permanent tank was not desired. 

Dipping vats are large tanks (vats) of liquid pesticide mixture used to treat livestock for external parasites. They are used in farm, ranch, and regulatory pest control operations. Portable dipping vats are usually trailer-mounted tanks with a set of folding ramps and railings. The animals are driven up the ramp onto a platform and forced into the tank so they are completely immersed. The animal s head may have to be pushed under the surface.

Utilities outsourcing The complete outsourcing of utilities, such as the provision of steam and water, is the next level. In fact, many organizations around the world have purchased steam from a neighboring manufacturing facility or from a utilities supplier for many years, but today there are many permutations on this theme. For some time it has been common to hire a boiler or even a turbine generator on a temporary basis. Now it is easy to hire the water treatment plant, or simply to buy the MU water needed to run the plant. Under these schemes, contractors may provide trailer-mounted water treatment equipment, which is simply driven in and hooked up directly to the customers deaerator or FW tank.

To effectively perform complete personnel and equipment decontamination operations, decontamination units use truck-mounted tanks, pumps, and water heater units and trailer-mounted pumps and water heater units. In these processes, reducing the exposure time of the individual or piece of equipment to the chemical contaminant is of the highest priority. 

In the case of tanker trucks and railcar-mounted tanks, linings and corrosion allowances for internal corrosion are used. In the case of transportation of corrosive materials corrosion-resistant alloys are used. In extreme cases, rubber bladder tanks have been used on flat-bed trailers or railcars. External corrosion is controlled with coatings and designs that minimize crevices. One possible solution to minimize crevice corrosion is by placing a horizontal tank with a circular cross-section on legs, thus avoiding direct contact with other surfaces.

Such trailer mounted units consist of three concentric tanks. The liquid fluorine is contained in an inner baffled tank made of Monel metal or stainless steel. The inner tank is enclosed by a stainless steel tank filled with liquid...

These sprayers are mounted on a two-wheel cart with handles for pushing. Trailer hitches are available for towing the units. Spray material is hydraulically agitated. Some models have 15- to 30-gallon tanks. Pumps deliver 1.5 to 3 gallons per minute at pressures up to 250 psi. 

The containment vessel is mounted over the axles of the trailer with the door facing the front of the trailer. The water and reagent tanks are at the front of the trailer. The area between these components serves for preparing and loading the mnnition. All controls and instramentation displays are readily accessible from this working area. The electrical supply panels and the hydraulic pump are mounted at the rear of the trailer. Piping and electrical conduit run under the main deck. 

Two control and instrument panels are mounted at the front of the trailer near the water and reagent tanks. One panel contains pressure and level displays and pump controls. The second panel contains temperature readout and controls. Controls for the hydrauhc oscillation system and hydraulic nuts are in a panel on the side of the trailer. Two electrical distribution panels at the back of the trailer contain circuit breakers and other electrical equipment. 

Cargo tank capacities range up to 17 000 gal (64 m ). Although no minimum capacity is given for them in the specifications, cargo tanks are normally large capacity tanks permanently mounted on truck bodies, or they form a semitrailer body. In some instances, truck tractors draw double tank trailers containing compressed gas. 

Portable tank. A bulk packaging designed primarily to be loaded onto, or on, or temporarily attached to a transport vehicle or ship and is equipped with skids, mountings, or accessories to facilitate handling of the tank by mechanical means. It does not include a cargo tank, tank car, multi-unit tank car, or trailer. 

Fluorine is authorized for shipment in cylinders as a compressed gas under DOT and TC regulations, and as a liquefied low temperature gas in liquid nitrogen refrigerated tanks mounted on truck trailers by special permit of the DOT [5, 8]. 

Fluorine is authorized for shipment as a liquid at low temperature and atmospheric pressure in tanks mounted on motor vehicle trailers under exemption by DOT. These tanks commonly have a 5000-pound (2270-kg) capacity.
